A system administrator would have passwords and access to JR files. They would potentially have accessed the payroll files to find bonus amount. They may have read JR emails and maybe one of the emails referred jokingly to his “Good Southern common sense”. If RN written by intruder it is someone that is emotionally immature and movie addict. I find many of these Computer types ( especially 20 plus years ago ) are emotionally immature and due to lack of a social life watch lots of movies and live in fantasy worlds. I’m a computer programmer and think of the people I went to school with or work with, many fit the profile, especially back in the 1990s when Computer work was not as mainstream as today. I would look at the system admins that had access to JR files. I once work for a firm where a system admin was caught reading the emails of the executives so it would not surprise me.

Could have been. Most people think Patsy wrote the note, though.

I know the police investigated some place of business folks.

If I was forced to bet on crime I would say Patsy covered it up. The crime scene was so messed up though it is hard to get a conviction, especially against top of the line defense attorneys. Some part of me wishes it was not Patsy because then we have chance to make someone pay for the crime and bring justice. I think about the case often and always am searching for some resolution but I doubt it will ever come.

The suspicion of Patsy lies with the fact her handwriting is believed to match closely with that of the ransom note. Also, her notepad was used to write the note itself, with some pages torn out. May seem naive to ask, but I am presuming the note itself was run for dna testing and as well as other objects in the home, such as the bowl of pineapple came back without any match for foreign dna? They talk a lot about the pineapple bowl being critical in the case, but I think the ransom note is just as critical as it something we know for a fact was handled by someone directly involved in the planning of this whole thing, whether they killed JBR themselves or not. The pineapple bowl, still could arguably have been handled far enough ahead of when she was killed that it was not handled by a suspect in the lead up to her murder.

an Access Graphics employee would sexually assault and brutally murder the daughter of the CEO of the company?...... then write a fake ransom note for a fake kidnapping?...... stow the body in a room that they probably wouldn't know existed.

PR probably wrote the note........ there is not very much evidence of IDI..... don't get me wrong, i doubt there's enough evidence to get an R conviction in court

as an aside, if there was no fake ransom note i doubt think we'd be talking about this case today
