When are we going to get you out of the wilderness and back to civilization? (You do have Starbucks, I hope.)

We've got three Starbucks thank the Lord! I'm there twice a day. Wal-Mart maybe once a month. I can deal with it.

We have 3 Starbucks within walking distance. I consider that a minimum residential requirement.

I haven't been to Costco, but Thanksgiving dinner came from there and it was excellent.

I've heard wonderful things about Costco. Maybe one day we'll get one or two. Absolutely agree with you about Starbucks. Breakfast and lunch come from there. I'd die without my non-fat lattes.

Exactly, Eve. But it's a common misconception here that the ACLU only defends "liberal causes." I wanted to emphasize that the ACLU will defend free speech, even if that speech opposes a "liberal cause" such as gay marriage.
Yep - the ACLU is all about civil liberties - no matter if they agree or disagree with the particular issue. Sounds to me like they're right. I also don't agree with the protestor, but of course he has a right to be on a public sidewalk. Were it me, driving past him, I'd go in and shop at the WalMart just because he had reminded me they didn't completely cave in to pressure on the gay marriage thing.

I've never liked WalMart - but my mom was mentioning an interesting thing - she knows through some relatives a very - bluntly - stupid woman with a kid who is supporting herself in a job at WalMart. For as lousy as they pay, for some people, it is a good job if no one else will hire them (and apparently she falls into that type of category - lousy work ethic and dumb). I still avoid shopping at WalMart if I can find any way around it (and so far, I've only not found a way around it twice in my life), but that was an interesting thought to me.

They know us too well. I spend about $15 a day there. I need to buy some stock.

I should have known you and I would order the same drink. Now why don't you just give in and agree with all my other opinions?

They not only know my order, but the order of everyone I work with. They just ask "Who are you getting coffee for today?"

For Christmas they send free gift cards to almost everyone in the company.

Indeed, Details. Thanks. I usually find boycotts more and more confusing as I dig into the issues. But since I don't shop much anyway, it's easy to abstain.

Maybe that's my problem. I'm a skinny chai with a shot of SF vanilla and 1 splenda girl ...Should I switch to latte's??? It might change my opinion on things:dance: !!!

If you get a TALL, BLENDED LATTE, like I do that means you're opinions are somewhere in the mid-range, and you can go either way if necessary.

'S okay, I guess. But if you start eating 7/11 food, we'll have to have an intervention.

Better wait and see if it works on Jeana. So far, not so much. ;)

There is no corp out there that is perfect. I just want to touch base on something though. Are you calling every person that works at wally world dumb and they have a lousy work ethic?

And it's not that they are the only ones that will hire someone. Sometimes it's the only game in town and sometimes, working at walmart beats working another job that won't give you insurance.

I'm not a huge fan, but I have a child that works there. A child that also is joining the service and is a good kid that understands the value of money and has a wonderful work ethic. His job that he's had since he was 16 laid him off. Going to school too so the hours were good. Money is money, and if you need it, walmart is better than starving.

I do like their stance on gay marriage, I'm not happy with the way they seem to treat others sometimes, I'm also not too keen on the whole moving in and taking over aspect they have. But other than using all their money for gas to find work further out, wal mart is it in that little town.

Well, I am not a big WalMart fan, but here's the thing: it enables a lot of my students and their families, for example (low economic status and at-risk), to have things they need/want and would not be able to afford anywhere else. They ALL shop at WalMart and some work there. There is a reason they shop there. I do shop their super store for groceries sometimes and I definitely save money.

I love Costco, got flowers for my wedding (tons of red roses, fresh, nice and reasonable), wedding cake (dee-lish) and other things there. It was great!

For coffee, no matter where I go, I get the strongest and darkest - no sugar, Splenda, milk or cream! No cold coffee drinks, either.

Don't know what says about me!

I feel fine, as long as the protestor doesn't incite violence. I think people are able to evaluate what they hear out there in the world. For the same reason, I've never minded my kids being exposed to all sorts of viewpoints. My son happens to be quite conservative/libertarian-leaning in his views. He goes to UW-Madison and his professors are extremely liberal. He really likes it. He says it hones his persuasive skills and helps him examine his own beliefs.

He ended up this way with a mom who basically let him hear/see/read/view everything. Now I wasn't showing 🤬🤬🤬🤬 flicks, I just mean I never shielded him from certain points of view or sex ed or other religions, etc. We always associated with a variety of people from different walks of life. He had a couple friends whose families' circles of friends were very homogenous (did I spell that correctly?) and he found that very insular - not what he thrived on - he would comment on it even when he was little.

Don't be confused :) I'm going to start inserting another religion for any article I read from now on. As a litmus test to see if I'm secretly biased against any particular religion.

It was just a test. It was only a test.

Now, I return you back to your regularly scheduled programming.
