Looking at all evidence objectively, how likely would it be that an intruder would close or partially close Jonbenet’s bedroom door after taking her from her bed? Patsy Ramsey said in several Tv interviews, including an interview with Larry King on the 27th March 2000, Patsy said, she woke up early, got dressed hurriedly, went downstairs to pack a few things to take on the plane (as they were planning on holidaying at charlevoix) it was early morning before daylight. She then went down the spiral staircase (which indicates she was packing things on the second floor) and found a 3 page ransom note on one of the stair treads. She ran back upstairs, pushed open Jonbenet’s bedroom door and she was gone.
How likely would it be that an intruder would shut Jonbenet’s door after snatching her from her bed? Was shutting her door part of his sick game? If Jonbenet got up in the middle of the night and wandered downstairs, would it be unlikely she would close her door? Apparently, the cellar door where Jonbenet’s body was found was also shut and latched. Are the two shut doors significant? If the intruder entered through the basement window, would he risk being heard by placing the grate back over the entry point? Fleet whites account of the basement that morning contradicts johns. Fleet white said he searched the basement the first time, he saw the broken window and picked up a small piece of glass and put it on the suitcase that was under the window. He also said the window was closed contradicting john as John said the window was open. So we have 2 closed doors and now a closed window. The strange thing is though, during the first search, fleet white said he opened the cellar door but couldn’t see inside as he couldn’t find the light switch. John on the other hand said during the second search, he saw the white blanket before he turned the cellar light on. If John was able to see the white blanket when the cellar light was off, why wasn’t fleet able to see it when he searched the first time? Here’s a link to the March 2000 Larry King interview.
The Ramsey’s start talking about that morning at 3:20

rebeccap,
If you add in that John had extremely poor eyesight, so poor, he had to hire a pilot to fly his plane, so how could he see what Fleet White missed?

Of course the answer must be that John Ramsey is lying, he knew JonBenet was there because he put her there.

Earlier that morning when Fleet White opened the wine-cellar door he saw nothing, smelt nothing because there was nothing there.

What John Ramsey did not know was that Fleet White had looked in the wine-cellar early that morning.

Assuming Fleet White's observation was sound, this must mean John Ramsey relocated JonBenet to the wine-cellar, along with some forensic items, probably when he allegedly went missing mid-morning. Also in a phone call he stated that he found JonBenet in the morning.

I would think an intruder would want to snatch up JonBenet and hurriedly leave. Not bothering to shut the door. IF there was an intruder. At the same time he/she may very well shut the door so it appears nothing is wrong. Can’t really say on it either way honestly. John, finding the body and screaming before the light was turned on could also be explained by it was daylight then and maybe the few basement windows allowed enough light in to brighten it up? For the record I don’t believe an intruder did this. I’m just giving what could be other reasons for the things you mentioned.

Angiebrads,
Yes you are correct the light might have been better than when Fleet White looked. This is the Ambient Light issue and has been debated before.

The consensus seemed to be the ambient light was better but possibly not enough to offset John Ramsey's poor eyesight?

The question still remains even if Fleet and John had the same eyesight strength, how come John saw what Fleet missed?

It was really the white blanket that Fleet missed as this is what JonBenet was wrapped in, you might think the white blanket would stand out in a dim setting?

This issue is similar to JonBenet wearing Burke Ramsey's long johns, either it is relevant or it can be explained away as a passed down item?

So Fleet just missed out on finding JonBenet, better luck next time.

I’m thinking Fleet didn’t see JonBenet because she wasn’t in there. I don’t understand why Fleet didn’t take a light source to search that basement. I would leave no stone unturned if my best friends child was missing. A child I knew and cared about. I personally think a white blanket would stand out.

No, the burden for not having opened the wine cellar door and checking out the room solely falls on Det Rick French.

Oh I completely agree. Ultimately law enforcement should have done a lot of things they didn’t do. I’m like so many of you that just wants justice for this precious child. Don’t know that we will ever see justice or just hear the truth.

icedtea4me,
Do you suppose the entire department was a prime example of the keystone cops or perhaps tipped off to bungle in that jungle?

If her body wasn't in the wine cellar when FW looked in there, where were they hiding it?

We will never know. Just like we will never fully know what happened to her.
