There was something else entirely going on here, IMO.

My hinky meter is clicking, even as it spits out a ticker tape expressing gratitude they came out of this alive.

Alaska is no place if you struggle with planning and sound decision-making. We have not heard about their supplies (bear spray, rain gear, etc) but if they were carrying food with them and on them they were at greater risk for attracting bears. Chena HS has a couple of flat leisurely trails. The issue I see is that the decisions made did not reflect their challenges (visual impairment and needed a walking stick to aid in the hike). I am happy that they survived and were found.

Here's a link to the radio show where Jonas Bare talks

I’m suspicious of this whole situation in light of his facebook post before the trip even occurred and the shirt he was wearing when found. I see someone who seeks and needs attention. Perhaps even at the risk of another. JMO

And the fact that he was located 200 yds from the resort?

Another thing, to me, is the dirt (?) or burns (?) on his face after being found. It looks very uniform while his shirt didn't look that dirty (in that you can easily read the wording on it).

It just all seems... off.

Moo.

What did they eat while lost? There's something 'off' about this whole scenario. Is he angling to get film rights to a movie or something based on their 'experiences'? Sounds like a manufactured crisis to me. He owns a business but has to share a phone with his business partner? Yeah, no.
