Family, volunteers search for missing man in Sterling

Central Kenai Peninsula volunteers are searching for a young man who went missing in the Sterling area Sunday.
Garyn Troost, 22, recently moved to the area from California to live with the family of old friends, said Terry Johnston, a volunteer.
Troost did not return from a walk he took Sunday evening and has been missing since.

Volunteer searchers locate body of missing Sterling man

Volunteer search teams located the body of Garyn Troost at around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Alaska State Trooper say. His remains were found in the area of Valley View Road at the power line trail.

"Further investigation is being conducted by AST and the State Medical Examiner's Office, however no criminal activity is suspected at this time," troopers wrote.
