Full-Scale Search for Hiker Ends
Kevin O'Keefe 36 of Sacramento failed to arrive at a rendezvous with a chartered airplane. O'Keefe was dropped off at Wolf Point near Muir Inlet on Sept 22 and was last seen Sept 28. Searchers found a wool cap and hiking boots about a half mile from his campsite. He told park employees he was planning to take a series of day hikes around his campsite at Wolf Point. Rangers who checked his campsite several times recently found his tent backpack and sleeping bag. Searches found gloves scraps of food and an airplane boarding pass. Glacier Bay is 3.2 million acre national park.
