SurfieTX, he was seen leaving his motel just 45 minutes prior. I think if he had made a drug drop, LE would have arrested him then. I haven't seen mention of any drugs in the car. If he was hauling drugs around the country, there would be some trace evidence left in the car.

Hopefully they get him back to AK sooner rather than later so we can have some answers. I believe his costume is the same as worn by her abductor or possibly Sam was seen with him on some video surveillance. OR he could be into human trafficking. There is big money in it and it's much more common these days then most people realize. I think LE knows he is connected to Sam some how or they would have never publicly said this.

Why did he go down to the Tucson area? That has me baffled. Why did his map have spots from Northern to Southern California highlighted? Were those going to be his stops on his way home? It's drugs or human trafficking or a big credit card scheme. It has to be.

Actually, the part I bolded is not quite accurate.

• On 03/13/12, at 11:00 a.m., the Ford Focus was "observed" parked in the parking lot of the Quality Inn and Suites.

• "Shortly thereafter", Keyes was "observed" leaving Rm 2**, putting personal items in the Ford's trunk, and leaving the scene.
• At 11:45 a.m., he was stopped for speeding and eventually arrested after a search of the car.

"Shortly thereafter" is vague and subjective. Was it five minutes? Or thirty minutes? I point it out because small differences in timing can be significant.

He was arrested at the Cotton Patch at 3207 South First St. which is only 1-1/2 miles from the Quality Inn and Suites at 4306 South First St. The way I read it, he was stopped just a few minutes after leaving the motel parking lot.

What about dark grey...shades of grey...as I sit here in my dark grey...and it was night-time...probably B/W camera too...

The fact that they described the first as dark and the second as light makes me think different hoodies.

I know we have been told very little but I don't remember ever reading a mask mentioned in the abduction either. There was "maybe" a cap as well as the hoodie.

I had thought that perhaps the kidnapper had a mask on because it was stated that the video would not show anything. If this was the case there would be no need to show the video and certainly they wouldn't want the perp to know what they had on him. There was always a reason for not showing the video and in my opinion it was probably wise on LE's part.

Why wouldn't you just say "His face was covered with a mask or a skimask or covered" .... I understood that he did something different to the mask thing.

Same here, I took the "observed" as the first time they saw him and then they observed him for what looks like around 40 mins. They mentioned after observing him that he THEN put personal belongings in the car.

It seems that way, but sometime you have to tip-toe through each fact until the accurate picture gels in your mind, then follow that trail to an answer.

Exactly! How else would they know it was the same guy? What I read said it was a mask made out of a T shirt. I would say that is probably not common especially in Alaska where you can probably by a ski mask anywhere. If they showed the video I would think the first thing he would do is destroy the mask and clothes he was wearing. Now add to that the call early the next morning of a breaking and entering into a vehicle and the owner of the vehicle describes the same guy/same face mask. If you are LE you are just hoping this guy does it again and again so you can eventually catch him. And you are just hoping he eventually tries to use the stolen credit card. Especially if there is a missing person possibly involved.

I don't think anyone accept those that have seen the video can say what it shows. Speculate yes. Some said the camera was angled from the back at the door toward the front and if he came in and never turned around it would only show his backside. But we don't know if he came in and turned around or not do we?

Sorry my comments were poorly written.

I am not sure whether the owners commented on the lengths he went to not be seen (with no mention of a mask) or whether someone here wrote it (not as a guess - I was guessing it was either one of those ways lol)

I do remember seeing a youtube video of what someone expected the actual abduction to have looked like.

On 03/13/2012, at approximately 11:00 am CST, a white Ford Focus sedan... was observed parked at the Quality Inn & Suites (QIS)...

Shortly thereafter, a white male adult... was observed exiting room 215 QIS, placing some personal items into the trunk of the aforementioned white Ford Focus and departing the scene.

On 03/13/2012, at approximately 11:45am CST, a traffic stop was conducted on KEYES' white Ford Focus sedan by a Texas State Highway Patrol Officer for speeding.

I think the mask showed up enough in the video to show that it matched the masks used in the various bank/ATM card uses. And that is why LE did not want to show the video and said it would be a matter in a trial. Also it kept this guy from tossing the mask, although it was still stupid not to get rid of it...MO
