Samantha was doing something illegal/immoral that would be perceived by most of society as she "deserved" it and the police are protecting her. (Why would the police try so hard to protect her image and risk her never being found)

OR she was part of an investigation herself so they already knew WHO they were targeting.. maybe he figured it out when they met up at the coffee stand and he blew up and took her, and now it's just a matter of finding them.

I'm still going with the theory (call me crazy) that she recently contacted APD (which is why they made the comments they did about her being alive) but this thing has gotten so huge and ugly now, she can't come home. JK's posts now speak more directly TO Sam.. the one this morning just a little while ago just says Come Home Baby!..and that he loves her, as if he's trying to tell her he forgives her for everything and just wants her home.
Too out there??

Thanks dadinak! with the layout of the buildings being the same i do wonder why they chose to put the cam here at the Tudor location.. Possibly when the wreck happened they may have changed cams and the location of them..:shrug: idk? But in knowing the cam placement is here boy does it ever give a totally different view with the perp now having to intentionally obstruct the cam so as not to reveal his identity.. Imo making it all the more sinister, as in planned and not a spur of the moment, opportunity arises of perp taking advantage of young girl alone and he pounced.. Until now I have very much kept that option on the table of an opportunist perp abducting her for sexual motives.. Im at the point Thats just not the case.. Alot to think on..

Mod Note: Numerous possible explanations exist for LE's decision to withhold the tapes. We can speculate on any of them, but that's all we can do. The only thing that can be stated as "fact" about withholding the video at this time is LE's explanation released to the media. Everything else is theory, and when stated should contain a disclaimer that it is the poster's opinion. IMO, JMO, MOO, etc. work just fine for this purpose.

Sorry guys, I just can't get past the "significantly taller" description of the guy. She was 5'5". That's not short, I'm the same height and yes I know that's not tall either. The guy was significantly taller,to me that means more than 6' ft tall.

I just think there is a reason they said "significantly" taller, but I don't have a clue what that reason would be.

IDK... 7 inches does seem significantly taller to me. I'm a little under 5'5", and I have to look UP to a 6 ft. tall guy.

Their goal is to protect her, regardless, but I don't know about them having any communication with him. If he were negotiating with LE instead of her father, I can't imagine what the reason for that would be, surely couldn't be for any financial gain, and what other reason would someone want to kidnap a young woman as a bargaining chip? If the intention was to sell her into the sex slave trade, she is already gone. If he intends to keep her for himself, he wouldn't be talking to LE about it. If he intended to "play" with her for awhile, and then kill her... well, odds are that she is already dead. So he would want to get the heck out of Dodge and make himself invisible.

When I used the word "contract", I couldn't think of the word "negotiation". Maybe the perp is holding out for money, releasing a family member from jail, lowering a family member's sentence...all just "out there" thoughts.

Here is another "out there" thought..could the perp be an undercover cop gone bad? This is NOT to be disrespectful to policemen/women, but there can be individuals that go "south" in ALL lines of work. Maybe "outing" the undercover cop would put even more people in harm's way?

I'm assuming you mean like a Confidential Informant for LE? Or, like a 'narc' in the colloquial sense - just 'telling' or 'tattling' on someone?

Oh def meant the one who would "tell". Her dad keeps stressing he knows "everything"... just made me wonder. I also can't recall the last time someone went missing and the missing posters were printed in Russian, German, Korean, Spanish, French, and Turkish?

As far as the several languages for the fliers go I wouldnt be looking to deeply into it.. It was suggested to James to do so mainly Spanish for any hispanic communities.. That then snowballed into people suggesting every language imaginable and people began translating the flier into multiple languages and emailing the family the translated versions.. It was done because people were suggesting it.. He only did like 50 of each, as I think they see that there just isnt a huge demand for these differing languages..

So, theres no underlying motive..its simply a dad thats taking suggestions from folks and praying to God that it could possibly help...

I have considered:
1. Someone she knew that had feelings for her, but couldn't have her.
2. Stranger who took her for sex trade (Are there any other girls missing in this area of AK, similar to her?)
3. Like what was previously posted, maybe she was part of something else that cops feared may have made her look bad, hence why tapes may not be shown.
