Curious.... would this guy be considered "significantly taller" as was stated regarding the surveillance video of the man taking her away?

Looks like he didn't want to be recognized, thus the new 'straight edge' haircut.

I think his hair style in his arrest pic looks more up to date than the older one. I'm wondering if Sam "saw" him. Or if not, I wonder if he's the guy that "gave her the creeps" (according to the cab driver).

The sad part about this case now is that Samatha could be anywhere between Alaska, Canada, and whatever other states this dude traveled to get to Texas. There's only one road going out of Alaska to get to the lower 48 and that's the Alcan Hwy. Samantha probably isn't even in Alaska any longer since they found evidence linking this dude in his vehicle down in Texas. I've traveled the Alcan Hwy and God only knows know where she could be.

Bessie, ya still on? JK mentioned DT. Can we investigate his dad at all bc I think his dad works construction. Maybe a coincidence, millions of people work construction.

Doesn't sound like this dude is very smart to still have evidence in his vehicle of the kidnapping after all this time. I thought I read that he had to be in Texas to show up in court?

That's still a bit of a stretch, JerseyGirl. You can sleuth the heck out of Israel (not his family), and if you come up with a link to DT, let me know.

Dude's sportin' a mullet, which hasn't been in style for many years. Unless maybe he liked that look? Idk but the pic looks dated IMO. Looks like a mug to me too but could just be a closeup for any old reason. He has ties to AK, WA, TX, NY...trying to check data bases.

:) Lot's o' dudes with mullets in Alaska. Esp. at this time of year ;)

It would have been risky for this guy to smuggle her across the Alaska-Canada border (and then again across the Canada-US border if he did that).

I'm thinking she's in Alaska and he fled to Texas, perhaps eventually heading to Mexico. Maybe he thought/knew that the cops were on to him and couldn't cross the border without getting a fake passport or getting smuggled across.

I read the same...and a date of Thursday, but I think it may be referring to some sort of court appearance related to THIS issue. When I first read it, I thought I saw that he was potentially in Texas because he needed to appear to deal with a prior...but I am starting to think I either misread or have had my brain clouded by some of the things bouncing around in the comment sections on the ADN...
Anyone know?

I agree with you.
It does not bode well. But it makes it all the more important to figure out who this guys acquaintances were. Someone needs to canvas the Turnagain/Spenard area. Pray for tips!!!

You guys this is super creepy. Dude with the same name and same approximate age that killed himself in a murder/suicide in 2008. Also military background. I don't know what to think about this, just that it's a creepy/weird coincidence. Hopefully mods allow the post since the subject is deceased:

Different Israel, Nancy. The one in your link has the middle initial W. And would be early 40's now. Different dad. I looked on Veromi. Since they're not involved we can't link. I searched his name, Montana. Then his dad's name, Montana. Comes up and not the same guy.

Is this him?

Hey Nurse, did you notice something in that commendation he posted?

His first name is misspelled (darn Army) and the date served conflicts with what he says in his work history section ...

1998-2000: Served three years in the Army Infantry and was stationed in Ft. Lewis, Ft Hood, and Sianai, Egypt. Honorable discharge in june 2000.

No, it was due to a PRIOR incident. He was due in court in Texas for prior identity theft type charges.

That is why I am wondering if he robbed the coffee hut to get money for his trip to Texas, and maybe she was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

ETA: I stand corrected. It looks like the original wording was kind of sloppy and the charges were new and not old.

I have to say, I really did not believe that LE had a line on this case at all...you just never know. Sometimes silence does mean they are getting ready for an arrest...sometimes it doesn't.

I William K is deceased (2008), I looked at WA Digital Records and found his death certificate.
