Pratt was last seen in Anchorage, Alaska on November 6, 1961. He was involved in a hit and run accident and a witness reported he was in his 1955 Plymouth in the ditch near the Portage Bar between 10:00 and 10:30 p.m. He appeared to be intoxicated and laid down in the front seat of his vehicle and apparently went to sleep. The following day around 9:00 a.m., the witness saw that the vehicle was still in the ditch, but Pratt was no longer in it. He has never been heard from again.
Pratt suffered from extreme myopia at the time he went missing and could not see without his eyeglasses, but his glasses were discovered inside his vehicle. Few details are available regarding his disappearance and his whereabouts remain unknown.
