I was able to find a mention of Marcus in the May 20th 1999 edition of The Auburn Plainsman, thanks to the Special Collections and Archives department of Auburn University.

He bears a strong likeness to the John Doe that was found in Mobile Alabama in 2003. According to NamUs and Doenetwork, this John Doe was located in lightly wooded area off of I-65, near Prichard, north of Mobile, AL.

Hopefully they are testing him against the John Doe! Imagine how many cases would be solved if all the missing person reports across the country were actually entered into NamUs
