Three men have been arrested following concerns of sexual abuse of children in an underground bunker located in Brent.

According to the Bibb County Sheriff’s Office, their department launched an investigation on Feb. 4, 2025. During the investigation, authorities say William Chase McElroy was arrested in the case.

Officials say on April 25, 2025, they identified and arrested Dalton Terrell as a second suspect in the case. Terrell was previously arrested for allegedly paying adults for access to children for sexual purposes.

As the investigation continued, a third suspect, Andres Trejo-Velazquez, was arrested on April 29.

Six children were allegedly drugged and taken to a storm shelter in Brent that was used as a bunker where the abuse occurred, according to Assistant District Attorney Bryan Jones.

Investigators say multiple suspects are accused of paying to sexually abuse the children.

Police believe that the abuse in the bunker went on for over a year from New Year’s Day 2024 until April 2025. It’s not clear exactly where the bunker was located. The three suspects are all from the community of Brent, 50 miles south of Birmingham.

The suspects all live within a mile of each other in mobile homes.

Without identifying the children or giving out confidential information, how did they get the type of access to these children that allowed them to drug them, harm them, and then (?) return them over the year or so that they have now been known to have done this?

Some of these children are so young, who were their caregivers?

they probably paid their parents, like Terrel did in previous cases

It seems we almost never hear about charges being brought against parents/gardians that allow/arrange access to their children. It's just too much!

I also wonder where they got the money in the first place. Follow it and we'll find more crimes, I fear.

Seven people have been arrested in connection to the child sex trafficking ring: William Chase McElroy, Dalton Terrell, Andres Trejo-Velazquez, Timothy St. John, Rebecca Brewer, Ricky Terrell and Sara Terrell. Charges in the case include rape, sodomy, sexual abuse, sexual torture, human trafficking and kidnapping.

Bibb County Sheriff Jody Wade said the case is believed to have ties to a gang affiliated with the Sureños‍, which he said is mostly funded through child sex trafficking. Wade said the gang is believed to get most of its money through child trafficking.

The suspects could have made up to $1,000 a night victimizing children. The case involves at least 10 victims ranging from three to 15 years old. The sheriff’s office said some of the suspects are related, but other suspects are acquaintances or people who paid to victimize children.

“I’ve been in law enforcement for 33 years, and this is absolutely the most horrible thing I’ve ever seen when it comes to the victimization of children,” Wade said. “Like I say, I know God’s forgiveness is boundless. But if there was a limit to it, I think we reached it.”

Wade said he expects there to be more arrests and more victims discovered in the case

How were they finally caught after being allowed to get away with this for 15 months ?? Every time we think we cannot be shocked and horrified more than we already are ......what weaknesses in the system allowed this to happen ????

Seems like at least some of the victims were the perps' own children (substituting initials for the suspects to help protect ID of the victims)

"These victims included both her children and V-T and B’s children, Wade said."

There is also this:

"Wade noted that 'there’s no telling' how many more victims there may be in the grander trafficking scheme as the investigation continues in tandem with the Department of Homeland Security."

It seems, from the same article, that photos were taken, which means the victimization extends beyond the crime scene and potentially continues far and wide through the distribution of photos.

Evil exists.

FYI: It's not just three men who have been arrested. Women are among the perps too (bbm)

"So far, seven suspects have been arrested as part of the roundup of the ring, including three family members and two mothers whose children were also trapped and abused in the basement, the Bibb County Sheriff’s Department said....

Rebecca Brewer, 29, Sara Louise Terrell, 41, Ricky Terrell, 44, Dalton Terrell, 21, William Chase McElroy, 21, Andres Velazquez-Trejo, 29, and Timothy St. John, 23, all face a laundry list of charges ranging from sodomy and rape to sexual torture and human trafficking."
