How I wish she had gone to the store with her aunt...

I am 15 pages behind here still and catching up so I’m not up to speed on if there have been developments yet but I did want to comment that I’m not sure this would have made a difference, meaning if a predator had his eyes set on her it might have just been a matter of time. We have seen the great lengths a predator will go to to achieve what he wants.

Are we allowed to comment on number and gender of offspring for suspect who has been arrested?
No. No need to read about themselves years from now on here. They're victims, too.

I do wonder what at the scene led them to him so quickly?
Did he already have a record from which to get DNA or fingerprints? Was she out in the yard and he grabbed her? Did a neighbor see him going into or out of the house? See them walking into the woods or see him walking back out of the woods? Was his DNA on her body? His fingerprints on her shoes or some other item of clothing from which to get a print?

Against TOS to sleuth family/non POI, though your question is well-considered, imo.

@margarita25 Christopher Madison was arrested and charged with Amberly's murder. She was found in the woods behind his house. Cause of death strangulation. I think that's all we know so far for new developments. Hope this helps you catch up.

Also, the boyfriend. Sedatives for everyone! I know I'd have to be knocked OUT. I cannot even imagine. I would not be able to cope.
Near where I live a girl was killed in a horrific car accident while talking to her bf on her phone...he was literally sedated in the hospital for the better part of a week while the reality set in- his body just couldn’t handle the trauma. I imagine I’d need to be on something pretty strong to get through losing a child, especially if it was a homicide.

Normally, we would look at people who knew the victim as the possible perpetrator, so I’m guessing this idiot cracked under the pressure of interrogation because he would initially be the first suspect. The fact the guy looked messed up didn’t help his story.

DeKalb County Sheriff Nick Welden in a press conference Monday announced that an arrest had been made in the case of 11-year-old Amberly Alexis Barnett’s death.

Welden said Christopher Wayne Madison, 33, has been arrested and charged with capital murder.

“Her body was found in a wooded area approximately 200 yards behind the defendant’s home,” Welden said. “I can tell you the preliminary results of 11-year-old Amberly Alexis Barnett indicate her death was due to strangulation.”

Welden said due to the ongoing investigation, and in order not to jeopardized the investigation, neither he or his staff are at liberty to disclose any additional information concerning the case.

“The road to justice for this sweet, innocent little girl is too important to release anything to jeopardize this investigation,” he said. “I would like to thank our staff and all other departments that assisted on this case. This was a true joint effort, a team effort between multiple agencies who all worked tirelessly to help us get to this point.”

Most LE are good at detecting LIARS. I think they searched his trailer which gave them cause to arrest him on their suspicions and they either got him to talk first or they found her so close to home that it was fairly easy to get him to talk especially as he is detoxing (unwillingly).
Anyone pulled up previous arrest records on this guy?

@sdled we all had an idea by the police arrest list a good 10 pages back on here , this link seems very gossiping and not facts

I was watching the presser from yesterday and the weird way they said something about an event that happened ,is giving me pause. I think it was stated something like "the event" .

I'm guessing, among other things, he was acting a bit squirrelly when they were taking his statement. I mean, body language gives off huge clues that may or may not agree with words.

just as i suspected from my research, was arrested for CS the day they found her and not bailed out, he could of been running a meth lab
she could have walked up on him, this would fit a 10-15 min timeline
good job LE
my condolences and prayers to the family
it raining here and i have always been told it is the angels crying
I don’t think AB walked upon him cooking meth. Wouldn’t he have been charged with more than just possession IF he was out there cooking it?
Plus I don’t think she’s the type of child that would have reported it. I’m fairly certain she was familiar with these types of people and had no reason to fear him - despite it appearing obvious to many of us that he’s a !@&@ 🤬🤬🤬 creep.

So utterly sick and evil, to take an 11 year old INNOCENT little girl and likely SA’d her and took her life. A living breathing human child. Gone. For what???

Some shortsighted, selfish, sick reason. And a druggie. I doubt the reality of what he’s done will even bother him. What will bother him is not being able to have the freedom to make such disgusting choices again.

Monsters these days, they’re getting worse and worse I swear.
