Has anyone else checked the Dekalb county’s sheriff’s office arrest log? There are several arrested 3/2 but one is being held for agency. That generally means feds, right? So hypothetically, if she was taken over state lines, feds would be brought in. Correct. Sorry if this breaks any rules. I’ve been a member for a long time. Back in the Brittany wood time, but I’ve rarely posted and I know rules have changed drastically.
The sheriffs department was earlier searching for, and arrested, a man for a series of violent, serious crimes including rape. He is probably the one being held for agency. Sounds like a terrible weekend for that sheriffs department. I hope those officers get some decent counselling. MOO- I feel as though this beautiful girl was either killed violently or disposed of violently, and the sheriffs department will need to wait for a whole lot of forensic evidence before laying charges. Wouldn't mind betting that at least one person is getting to know the sheriffs holding cells while waiting.

ETA- The sheriffs dept stated on their social media that the two cases were unrelated.

Also, keep in mind that the grounds all around here are saturated. Lake Allatoona is 10 feet above full pool. The campsites, boat ramps and picnic areas are under water as well as MOST of the buoys and signs in the lake. The lake is full of debris!
(And this time if year in most places there is next to no water in the lake.)
Rome Ga is flooded (or was) past the banks of the
Oostanaula River.
The Etowah river as well.
The Tennessee river is also at flood level, due to the enormous amounts of rain we've had.
Collinsville Alabama, may not be as wet, but we had rains come through late yesterday evening as well.
Something to keep in mind about the conditions outside last night, for future reference. (And how the waterways flow towards the gulf.

****no I am not suggesting that she was drowned!!!!!

Just the entire area may have been wet, very muddy and slippery. Could make it a little harder to get away than it would be on a dry day.

Can anyone find the rain fall amounts for that area in Feb 2019?
I'm not having any luck on weather underground history.
Thank in advance if you can.

No, different person.

First, how did they find her so quickly? It appears the area she was abducted is heavily wooded.
Why does anyone think self-inflicted?
There was a van in driveway supposedly.
She was found somewhere besides her home.
Rumors are floating ...if true, definitely not self inflicted.

1. I don't believe she was abducted. MOO.
2. I've never thought self-inflicted either (I don't understand where that idea is coming from).
3. I feel like the vehicle in driveway might be a red herring or non-existent.
4. I think someone known to her/known to the family is responsible and perhaps that is also why they found her so fast.
5. The location she was found might be familiar to the suspect or perhaps cell phone pings led there or perhaps they got a tip from someone who saw something suspicious.

All MOO.

Per site 20190303_013438.jpg9.57 inches in Feb 2019.
Add in the water that may have possibly made it's way to the area.
The ground may have been a mud pit in some areas.
I know my backyard the mud will almost suck my boots off!

All MOO.
Maybe the BiL was able to get part of tag #, ownership- name- ping cell??
Sunlight will be key here!
Imo.
My gut says she was deceased with in 12 hours and she was close.
It will come out soon. I also believe that support will be provided her schoolmates.
Perp may or may not had Georgia contacts.
Maybe family members in GA.
I don't think he crossed state lines with her.
State lines can be odd.

Regarding state lines.

Driving north to Nashville on 75, we enter TN, the GA, then TN again through the Chattanooga area.

From Cedartown to Alabama it may be the same.
Fingers crossed we will get a PC update 12-2pm tomorrow during school, to give limited info, to protect her school mates.
When will see.
My gut says RSO, watched and possibly groomed her, took advatage of an open chance and took her.

I cant sleuth family but they may play a key into why she was located so early this morning!
A cell phone keyed up?
Gift, credit or frequent shopper discount card used?
I was worried about mean kids , but not anymore

I don't think self-inflicted either, just going by all of the information and statements made so far by involved parties. I also find it odd that a green vehicle showed up just at the right time frame when the girl's aunt had happened to go to the local shops. Also, I don't quite understand why the witness who said he saw the vehicle, didn't at the very least call their relative to report this strange event!

I usually have no words and it's no different this time.

I don't say much around here anymore. Baby Lisa Irwin really shook me and I am just so cynical now.

Such a bright light snuffed out too soon, RIP Amberly.

RIP ALB ~~~ Such a beautiful soul, inside a loving little girl.

As soon as I saw the first post that ALB was found deceased, I felt exactly the same as you. I actually stepped away to try and comprehend the unknowns of life.

As so many have posted in the aftermath of this horrible conclusion, I pray that her family, and friends, can find some solace in what she shared with all of them during her too short life.

It looked like a bible too me. The gold on the top of the pages. In the first press conference it looked like he was reading it.

Insert reply here because I really don’t know what to say about this. I’m trying to find a reply to this and I can’t think of one.

I can’t say I’ve ever seen this, anyone? LE reading/holding a Bible at a PC? Are we sure that’s what that is? My Shakespeare book has gold page edges?

This is scaring me, all of this.

I was going to say I can’t imagine how the people in the community feel but actually yes I can because I’ve been there.

It is apparent to me from the last 2 PCs that LE is very aware of how anxious the public is as NW (DeKalb County Sheriff Nick Welden) did seem to apologize for not being to release more information at the moment (paraphrasing). Imo, LE is likely hoping to update the public as soon as they can, as they must be feeling the pressure of all this and I imagine the media is hounding them.

(ETA: or maybe LE is NOT looking forward to updating the public, shudder...)

I am remembering from the Watts Discovery documents (only 1960 pages) that what happens (or at least what happened there) is that the news media sends an email to LE’s Public Relations Dept that handles media inquiries. They say “Hi this is so and so from so and so news network, are there any updates? Please put me on your list.” Then by the end of it LE has one big email list going and when there’s going to be an update they inform the media with one click along with staging instructions.
Source: Christopher Watts murder case file: Read all 1,960 pages

I wonder what time the PC will be tomorrow. Or will we be chasing more PCs... I think there will be more information tomorrow. Hoping they have a suspect in custody. I wonder if the autopsy has been completed yet, maybe not. Maybe today or the next couple of days...

RSBM (Insert reply here.....)

This was a real Heartbreaking ending. I know you will find the words to express yourself, you always can, and do. I took the liberty of blanking out the quote above as I know your words of wisdom will fill-in that space. Hugs & prayers :)

Missing girl found murdered

Video I can’t playas bad WiFi but says ‘murdered’

There wasn't really any new info in the video. Nothing with LE saying murdered nor homicide anyway. I think that "murdered" must be a journalist's assumption. The video had clips from the last presser and some brief interviews with a couple different neighbors saying they are scared for their own children after hearing about Amberly and they also said they are praying for the family.

This is irresponsible journalism imo and someone needs to tell them this.

LE has not revealed manner or cause of death.

NW appears to be clutching a bible indeed, moo.

He said “Lord Willing they “”will” have answers in the upcoming days”, which to dissect could mean they don’t have any answers as of yet.

This is obviously a very active and “fluid” investigation, as Sherriff Fitzgerald would say.

@Ched, thank you for posting the link. It is always good to have a video visual of the home and area (even though their headline sucks), as well as get a feel for what the neighbors have to say. We can see that the surrounding woods appear brown and dry, etc. The man in red (neighbor) says they all watch out for each other so he’s surprised how this got by (paraphrasing).
(Might be worth a rewind, rewind.) They also seem to indicate that is a safe area, never had something like this in their community.

One thing to note is there does not appear to be a mobile command center there. Nor does there appear to be evidence techs removing items from the home. It also appears to all be plain vehicles. How well traveled is that road? Rewatching the video. Do we know when exactly this video was taken?

—-
ETA:
Rewatching NW, “we are diligently, diligently BBM pursuing different avenues...”

“Pursuing different avenues.”

Maybe I’m reading too much here but that sounds like to me they are trying to find a killer.

Why would you pursue different avenues if you already had a suspect in custody?

I’m afraid we are going to hear later today that they do not have a suspect in custody as of yet.

—-

Why would she be last seen at 6pm? Did she go to bed at 6? Who else was in the home? Was anyone else at home? Who saw this green SUV?

From Post number 4 upstream by @cybervampira:
“Authorities also say a dark-colored SUV was seen at the home around the time of Barnett’s disappearance.“

I have been wondering about the picture where I believe her face was crossed out and her eyes scratched out (I haven't seen the pic), could it be her way of expressing that she had seen something that she didn't want to have seen?

  • #280
Rewatching the video above there is actually still some greenery so not all is brown and dry. Also there is one marked LE vehicle (white).

The neighbor in red says “whoever did this”. Which means they are viewing this as an unsolved murder at the moment.
