I agree. I don't think he is smart enough to do that. If it was right after he grabbed her he could have forced her to reply. I wonder if her reply about a date was AB way of trying to tell here roommate something was wrong.

Yes, seems like money has been his motivation, he also has taken victims from the scene of the crime. With his demonstrated poor impulse control, I think if the situation escalates he becomes violent. I mean think about it, what could his motive have been for taking Aniah? Sexual, maybe? But could have been more about money, was he going to force her to withdraw cash and it got out of hand too quick? It wasn't for her car, he was smart enough to get rid of it quickly.

Does anyone know how far the curb store is from her apartment? If it is only a few minutes, she should have gotten home Rather quick. Even if roommate went to bed I still think she would have herd her come in. I think if not home soon it would have set off red flags for the roommate.

Only a few minutes, I think. But presumably her roommate didn’t know she was at the Chevron.

The Dr. Phil interview with Walt & Angela, my mind immediately went to the person who was posting so much on social media. Is she the one they are referring too? Honestly, I feel like that is grasping at straws. In the end, they will find this was simply being in the wrong place at the right time

Maybe a long shot, but could they have been planning to force her to drive them to her apartment to rob it (and potentially also sexually assault her), and miscalculated on her having a roommate? Maybe the roommate’s Snapchat messages asking if she was almost home screwed up the plan?

MOO, IY may have been intending to make her withdraw money from ATM thinking all students in the area are AU students and probably rich (from his perspective). It may have gone bad if she actually only had access to a small amount of money. Many parents control their out-of-town college children's spending by only providing funds on an as-needed basis.

In some foreign countries (Brazil) this kind of kidnapping is very common but the victims are usually released.

I pray she is found before the preliminary hearing. If they do not have DNA evidence I am worried they will give him bail.

That is my concern as well. I hope LE has much more incriminating evidence than they have shared.

I think what OP is saying is that her roommate should have known pretty quickly that something was wrong when she wasn’t home within a few minutes, if she was heading home from the Chevron.

I agree all points lead to money being the motivation. I have not found any arrests or convictions for sexual crimes. That does not mean he hasn't committed them, especially with his poor impulse control and knowing most sexual assaults go unreported. It just seems money has been a factor in a lot of his criminal activities.

Yes, precisely a sticky! Angela also just reconfirmed it was her car in the Dr. Phil video. I don't believe that to be a slip of the tongue but factual information because all the evidence points to it being her car.

I'm struggling to find a way to make the above scenario work. What would the purpose be? Money? This person would know Walt was her step-Dad and think they could ransom Aniah? So they put together a plan to kidnap her that night? I guess this could work, if that person was the one who drove the silver/gray Lincoln which LE mentioned when they put IY's picture out there? LE has said there will be other arrests in this case. They just haven't said it recently.

Her parents have said that they accessed all of her social media apps and there is no indication that she was meeting anyone. However, maybe she told someone (not her roommate) she considered a friend that she was going to stop and grab some chips. If this is the person involved, then they could use that information to set her up. It would all have to be done so quickly. Maybe that's why it was done in public in the middle of a gas station parking lot.

True he got rid of the car quickly. The car was wrecked and full of blood. If it was a car jacking the car became useless.

Did they find her phone? How could they know all her social media apps? If I went missing I don't think my parents would know all the social media I'm on.

They haven't found it. Her mom said in an interview that they knew she wasn't planning to meet someone because they had been able to access all of her apps and see that there was no activity. I can see all of the apps that are on the phones that are on my family plan. If she was still on a family plan with her parents, which I think is common, they were probably able to see what she had downloaded on her phone.

I have not heard they found here phone, but I presume it would have been found with her car.I wonder if anyone elses prints are on that phone.( If they have it)
