Perhaps I wasn't clear, I'm not implying he assaulted her elsewhere and took her back there. I was trying to say I don't think he would kidnap her at the gas station, assault her at either the gas station or the hotel as those are more high traffic areas. I'm not implying that he was ever there at all. That would not be the hotel I would think a perp would choose for an assault. In fact, I think we know that the assault likely took place in the car. There are plenty of places closer to I-85 that are more likely in my opinion for an assault to have occurred. Most crimes in this area occur closer to the interstate to allow the easier getaway as most of the crimes seem to be committed by those coming from Montgomery and Tuskegee on this side of Auburn.

Maybe its just a hunch, intuition, or having been there so many times and knowing the area like I do, that is not a location I would suspect to have any involvement. Just because it's closeby, doesn't make me think anything more about it. Worth checking cameras and asking staff and checking a list of occupants yes, but I don't think this will play into the situation. They would likely have camera footage if there was any connection there.
Yes, I agree that it seems to me that the assault took place in the car. And I would have assumed it was in a secluded area between Auburn and Montgomery. I’m just trying to figure out where he took her during that missing hour. So, we know he abducted her at the Chevron at 11:20-11:30, and then her car was seen on a traffic light cam at 12:30, in the area of South College and I-85. Where were they during that hour? Doesn’t seem logical that he’d circle back, so that’s why I can’t rule out the possibility that he assaulted her somewhere in the area of the Chevron/Clarion before heading to Montgomery.

Right, definitely don't rule it out but don't rule out anything between there and I-85 either. Here's where most crime occurs in Auburn District Attorney Treese concerned about crime on Auburn's West Longleaf Drive

I think people are speculating that he took Aniah TO the Clarion and assaulted her there, not that he assaulted her somewhere else and then took her back there. I understand what you’re saying, but how do you account for that hour between the abduction at the Chevron and the sighting at South College and I-85.
Just thinking along these lines, and assuming rape and murder: If this was a random act, IY and his possible accomplices probably didn't come prepared to bury someone. So if she is in Auburn I would think they put her in some kind of container and duct taped it up or just dumped her in the woods or in a pond. If they did bury her, they probably had to go to Wal-Mart to buy tools or they stole some (LE could check W-M video & could ask public to report stolen tools). They probably didn't have time to rape, murder, acquire tools, and bury her within that hour, so if she is buried it may be more likely she is not in Auburn. Factor in the amount of blood in the car. Characteristics of the blood evidence, considering how much there is and how fast a body bleeds when dying or dead, LE may have some idea of the likelihood she is still in Auburn, if they really did leave at 12:30. Sorry for morbid thoughts.

Escambia county Florida. Which is the county Pensacola Florida is in. 7 miles on the other side of the Georgia line.

If the Clarion doesn't have anything to do with the crime or routine criminal activity, I wonder how the witness (staying at the Clarion) had seen IY previously. I think the only reason the Clarion is even being discussed in this much detail now is because that's where the witness said he came from.

I wondered this several threads back, who drove him to Flordia. I suppose if he had someone helping him, they could have checked into the hotel room in Florida and just left IY there. We have always pre-paid and don't t check out, just leave the keys in the room.

Edited for clarity.

I remember seeing a fb post from an individual who attended the hearing. She shared a summary of that hearing on an Aniah fb group in which she mentioned the name of the person who allegedly drove IY to Fl. Don’t know if it’s reliable information.
I suppose if someone were interested in the info, one could search for key phrases on fb. MOO

Finally something in MSM I can link to that the person who went to the hearing that I’m trying to get to join us had posted about in the FB group.

The witness says he didn’t know Yazeed’s name but had seen him around the area. Mixon testified Yazeed, who’s from Montgomery is known to frequent the Clarion Inn in Auburn, near the Chevron gas station where Aniah was last seen. Mixon also testified as to why the witness said he didn’t report the alleged abduction until investigators located him and the regret the witness is now feeling.

and

“The identity of this witness is a safety issue. Ibraheem Yazeed is getting into trouble and getting arrested on violent felonies, but for some reason, he keeps getting away and keeps getting not indicted. Maybe its because Mr. Yazeed’s associates handle his witnesses,” stated District Attorney Brandon Hughes

Investigator: Blanchard kidnapping witness remorseful he didn’t come forward sooner

I was just thinking something kind of along these lines. She may have been killed very soon after she was abducted, if she fought back hard and IY got angry about that. I think the "missing hour" may have just been him figuring out what to do next. Not to be forgotten that at some point not too long after she's abducted, things have at least calmed down enough for someone to be sending Snapchat messages with her phone. If he had friends staying at the Clarion or somewhere else in Auburn, he may have gone there and made some phone calls, sent the Snapchat messages, made a plan with whoever he was with or whoever he called, gotten some things together, gotten cleaned up to go to buy some things at Walmart, gotten high, etc - once they had a plan, they/he head back out either toward the forest or all the way back to Montgomery.

Thanks for this article.

I've now seen in MSM that IY "requested counselling," and that he "requested council" -- surely it was "counsel" that he requested at that key juncture?

Maybe he made a pass at her outside the chevron, she said no, he got pissed, ...

Given that it has now been revealed that IY was known to visit Auburn frequently (at least the Chevron station), I can't help but wonder what kind of "customers" and/or associates he may have in the area and what other parts of Auburn (if any) he frequented. Looking back at this article on his criminal history, I see the following:
  • 2013--charged with 1st-degree possession of marijuana
  • 2013--charged with possession of crack cocaine
  • 2013--charged with 2nd-degree possession of marijuana
  • 2016--charged with trafficking spice
  • 2017--charged with (and found guilty of) 1st-degree possession of marijuana
  • 2019--charged with 1st-degree possession of marijuana (one of multiple charges for which he was out on bond when AB was abducted)
I just wonder if there is a connection between his frequent visits to the area--in terms of possible associates or other locations frequented--and the missing hour after the abduction. There are so many things about this case that leave me wondering.

Another day...and no Aniah. I have followed MANY cases on here closely. This one has me dumbfounded. I keep wondering if this is/was very complicated with a lot of 'bends' in the road OR if its really just THAT SIMPLE and right in front of our faces.
- WHERE WAS HE IN THAT HOUR BETWEEN THE CHEVRON AND THE PLATES BEING SCANNED!!!! its driving me nuts. sadly, in my heart, I think that is where she will be found. I try to stay positive...but as the days have gone by and the details come out, i think she is gone. and it just broke my heart to 'say' that out loud.
I think LE has KNOWN this all along.

AND, i have always had it in the back of my mind - but for sure now, i feel as if he is into trafficking and def dealing drugs. Preying on his customers and those around them.

It may have been mentioned, but don't remember. You mentioned the hour between the curb store and her plates being read. What is the distance between curb store and plate reader?

It's less than 1½ miles, so a very brief drive.

I think what's making this all so muddy is we really have no idea when the witness was interviewed. Early on I can see your theory, but as time progressed it makes less sense to me.

Listening to the hearing again, I think maybe the witness was interviewed earlier than we think. Maybe he told LE he saw a man in a camo Vans jacket abduct her before info about the jacket was made public, and that's why they released the photo of IY as the POI. That would give the witness so much more credibility IMO.

The witness saying that he saw a black man in a camo Vans jacket abduct her after a photo of a black man in a Vans jacket was released to MSM is pretty meaningless to me. Literally any of us could have ID'd his jacket at that point, you didn't even need to be there. I'm sure all of that will come out eventually, it'll be interesting to find out the actual timeline.

I agree with this why else would they only show IY as a POI and not show the witness if they were in the store at the same time. It seems like they may have told investigators what they saw sooner than what everyone is thinking. But MOO, I could be way off.

So is December 4th the next time that we'll hear anything new on this case? Unless they find Aniah before then?

Will it be made public if the male DNA in the car matches IY (or doesn't)?

  • #278

I would think her car should have been picked up on a business or home security system within a 25 mile radius. JMO Someone either knows something, saw something or caught something on a surveillance camera. In today's society I can not believe something has not been caught on a camera.

Maybe he raped her in the Clarion Hotel or I saw an area within 4 minutes of Chevron called Auburn univ beef unit. There is a pond and a forest across the street from there.it's the most secluded area near there
