“When we got to Auburn we realized, ‘Wait, something is wrong,” [AH] said, adding that Blanchard left her dog behind and failed to take the children she babysits to school.

HELP BRING ANIAH BLANCHARD HOME! Beautiful teen college student missing after Snapchatting with roommate about new friend
Blanchard’s mother and father, [AH] and UFC heavyweight fighter [WH], spoke with CrimeOnline’s Nancy Grace for the latest episode of her podcast, “Crime Stories.” The couple described their 19-year-old daughter as a “homebody” who would FaceTime her mother every morning while attending school two hours away at Southern Union State Community College.
Blanchard, 19, who is from Homewood but lives in Auburn, last talked to a friend late Wednesday. Her mother said on the night of her disappearance, she sent Snapchat messages to her friend indicating that she was with a man she had recently met.
[AH] said she believes Blanchard going out with a guy wasn’t in her plans. The teen told her brother that her phone was dying before dropping him off in Auburn on Wednesday night. The mother noted that her daughter did not have a car charger.

Yea and I’m also wondering, what the roommate situation was? Did she not expect her to come home? Is that normal for her? Did she report her missing to parents first? Do they share a room?(respectfully snipped) - this gives more insight IMO as to why this was all taken so seriously on morning one. They said she had missed work, but I didn't realize "work" was a job where a family would be depending on her to get their children to school. Missing something like that carries way more weight in my mind than say, not showing up for a bar shift. Also, obviously, leaving her dog behind without anyone to care for it is a sign of something very serious as well. I assume she doesn't have roommates?
I go to Montgomery several times a year. Each time I see more decline. I do feel its worse than other larger cities, although violence is getting worse in all of them.
I hope LE has investigated the damage to the guardrails. In my opinion I think the most likely scenario is that she went out that night and met someone to hang out with. More than likely he came into town with a group of friends from Montgomery all riding in one car. He got in the car with her as the passenger. They stopped at the store to buy snacks gas alcohol or smokes and she went in and paid. She may have agreed to take him back to Montgomery where he probably lived since he was separated from his friends. Somewhere on the way or before they left Auburn there was an altercation. It’s possible this altercation led to erratic driving and led to the damage to the car. Obviously there was no other car involved in the damage since no one else has come forward that we are aware of. I believe it hit a concrete barrier on the way to Montgomery. She would have gotten onto the interstate at the S. College St. exit. I traveled this route this morning. There is visible damage to guard rails at mile marker 48 before the rest stop, mile marker 45 before the rest stop, right before exit 42 Wire Road, before exit 38 Tuskegee, and immediately following the Shorter exit 22. In each of these cases the guard rail and concrete barriers come all the way to the edge of the outside lane. Along this route they are several places that would present opportunities to dispose of a body or evidence. The wire Road and Tuskegee exits are relatively remote and provide easy access on and off the interstate. I do not think someone would wait until they got to Montgomery to dispose of a body as it becomes much more populated at exit 15 Pike Rd and the traffic picks up considerably regardless of what time of day you are traveling. After disposing of the body he dumped the car not far from where he lives and walked home or called a friend for a ride. With as much video as we have in Auburn they may very well have a description or even the identity of the suspect but not enough evidence at this point to arrest or detain.
I agree its no coincidence but not for the same reason. I chaperone my kids sports trips for going on ten years now and the batteries are always near dead. They beg, borrow, steal power packs or haunt any plug they come across but when it comes time to call their parents to pick them up at the end of the night- most need to borrow a phone. Life 360 will send me a text message when they get to 10% so I can remind them to plug in BTWI'm interested to know if the person who called in the vehicle in the apartment complex (and or the cctv footage, if any) was indicative as to how long the car may have been there.
As for her phone being turned off...um, no. That is a HUGE red flag with this age group - it doesnt happen. More specifically it doesnt happen at the exact time nobody ever hears from them again, just by coincidence) I can almost bet my left hand that she has a charger in the car, in her purse, a charging bank, pad, etc. lol. This age group and even my own - do NOT let their batteries die. It is the lifeline to EVERYTHING for our age group - hell even our money (ApplePay). Nope, as soon as I hear a phone goes off - my hinkey meter goes directly to "uh-oh".
Her 360 going off - is huge too.
this will not end well. sadly.
Here car was found in Montgomery, an hour awayFrom the mother’s interview, it sounds like she & her brother had been away from home (funeral in North Alabama and visiting their dad in Birmingham) and driving for much of the day. There is a possibility that her phone battery could have been low by the end of the day, especially if she and her brother were having to share a car charger. If she crashed in a remote location and was badly injured she would have no way to contact authorities.

I feel like she was scrubbed by another car. When she pulled over to see damage, they grabbed her. I think there were more than one. One person to drive their car and one to dump hers a hour away. Looks bad, I hope I am wrong.I'm interested to know if the person who called in the vehicle in the apartment complex (and or the cctv footage, if any) was indicative as to how long the car may have been there.

Yes. Lots of cameras. Also cameras at the bank. Lots of cameras between auburn & Montgomery, too. One of them HAD to have caught something!! Fingers crossed. In case it is not been previously mentioned the Chevron station she was videoed in is at the corner of South College and East University/shug Jordan. It is not the Chevron further south known as store 17. I stopped in both stores this morning and the video clip is of her going in the direction of the beer coolers. I’m not sure if anyone has mentioned whether she was a drinker but The coolers are in that direction. This Chevron is far busier and more visible than store 17 Chevron and at that major intersection I would expect there to be a lot of cameras. If she was buying gas to drive to Montgomery there would be at least two more opportunities before she hit the interstate at Walmart and at store 17.
