Decatur man pleads guilty to elaborate kidnapping, child sex-trafficking plot

A Decatur man outfitted a trailer with restraints, a mattress and gynecological equipment to facilitate the planned kidnapping, rape and murder of a mother, and had plans to sell her 14-year-old daughter to a pimp in Memphis, according to the guilty plea he entered Monday.

Brian David "Blaze" Boersma, 48, pleaded guilty to attempted kidnapping of a minor, attempted kidnapping, attempted sex trafficking of a child, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possessing a firearm in furtherance of a violent crime. A sentencing date has not been set.

Boersma also told the informant that he previously has kidnapped girls and sold them to a Memphis contact for $10,000, but hoped to get $40,000 for this girl.

Police wonder if Boersma had kidnapped before

In the plea agreement, which he signed and affirmed as being correct, he acknowledged that he had told the co-worker — who became a confidential informant — that he had sold children to a sex trafficker in Memphis before.

Thank goodness the co-worker he tried to enlist turned him in! 30 years seems like an awfully short sentence for someone who had obviously methodically planned a crime of this sort.

It’s always hard to tell with these types of criminals if their “claims” are true or if they’re just bragging or attempting to taunt LE.
