This is truly horrific...such a young, beautiful girl, just out with her friends...and now she is gone.

It kills me that her family were the ones to find her...

My mom used to live in Daphne, and I currently live about an hour from Daphne...I always thought it was a beautiful little town. It just seemed so safe...

This is really, really terrible. She seemed so full of life:(

No arrests made yet. :(
I'm praying that her family gets some closure from such a tragic loss.

It's about time they arrested him! Everything was pointing to him being the :curses: that took this young beautiful soul away. I have to wonder what took them sooo long when from her cell phone records etc. all pointed to him. Not to mention that where she was found he once worked & he had scratches all over him the day after her coming up missing.
Thank you Jane for your PM letting me know.:blowkiss: It's strange that just today @ noon I checked to see if LE arrested him yet...little did I know they did. I hope this gives her parents & sister some closure.

OMG SHUT UP

Captain Bell said since the judicial process was just starting, he couldn't answers questions like cause of death, motive or autopsy results.
But when asked if police still suspected a possible drug connection between MacDonald and the victim, Bell said, "We still stand by that."
But he wouldn't elaborate.
Snipped by me and bolded by me

And snipped
For weeks, the Parish family has accused MacDonald of killing Brianna.
On November 17, Brianna's father said he and his family had tracked down MacDonald and had him come to the police department.
And Bruce Parish said he also remembered something he said MacDonald told him and his wife at the time.
Parish said, "He (MacDonald) looked us square in the face and told us what a beautiful daughter we had."
When asked what he thought about that, Parish said, "(I) didn't really know what to think at the time. It was creepy."
The Parish family wouldn't talk on camera Monday, but said they're relieved there's been an arrest.
If MacDonald is found guilty, he could face the death penalty.

How do they know him to just go and front him and ask questions ?

Sylinda Parish set up what her family is calling the Bri Tree for Christmas this year.

With glittery silver ornaments, the tree is dedicated to the memory of Parish's 21-year-old daughter, Brianna Lynne Parish, who was killed Nov. 12.

"She loved shiny things, all things bling, so it's done up like that," Parish said of the special tree.

Still Parish said it is hard to celebrate the holiday without her Christmas-loving youngest daughter.

"She was our Christmas joy. She always made everybody laugh and she really enjoyed Christmas," Parish said. "We're struggling with Christmas."

The bereft mother is finding some comfort, however, with the news of an arrest in 21-year-old Brianna Parish's death.

How terribly Sad :(

Authorities: Brianna Parish Died from Blow to Head and/or Strangulation
Last Update: 12/24 7:10 pm

<snipped>
BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala.) Dec. 24- "It will remain at no bond," stated the judge in the Fairhope courtroom Wednesday.

And with that, Troy MacDonald hung his head upon hearing he would stay in jail. For this hearing, he never really left, appearing on a television screen in the Fairhope Courtroom from lock-up in Bay Minette. Interacting with the judge, the accused killer was reserved and polite.

"He's upset and rightfully so as no evidence has been presented to me that I can give to him so, you know, he's probably like anyone else, he's been incarcerated and he wants to know why," said MacDonald's lawyer Clark Stankoski.

Video for bond hearing included in article.

Updated: Baldwin County, Ala., judge denies Parish slaying suspect bail
Troy MacDonald accused in brutal death
Thursday, December 25, 2008

<snipped>
Baldwin County District Attorney Judy Newcomb responded that, if the judge so desired, Daphne police could present her with evidence and testimony linking MacDonald to Parish's murder.

"I don't think that will be necessary," Hart said. She then turned to the video screen on the wall to inform MacDonald that she would not set a bail amount for him.

Stankoski said he has requested a preliminary hearing for his client, in which District Judge Jody Bishop will determine whether MacDonald will be held until the case is presented to a grand jury, which will decide if MacDonald must go to trial. According to state law, the preliminary hearing must be set within 21 days, he said.

Thanks to everyone who updates this- I hate that her family had to go through the holidays without her, but I am glad that they at least have him incarcerated/charged before the holidays...
