I just read on our local news', WKRG, Facebook page that KlaasKids has pulled out and the search has been suspended. I will post a link as soon as I find one.

After combing the woods, the last of the search crews are out of the Styx River basin. The search for Brittney Wood ends with nothing found. A complete update on News 5 at 5p.m.

Wow...no end to the rumors over there. They are still flying. Several are saying that the rental house of the Uncle (guess this is the river house where Brittney was supposedly headed) has not been searched...and others are saying his other home has not been searched either. Everyone seems to think there is a link between her disappearance and his suicide.
One woman who has posted several times....well, she is laying it all out. Guess you can't believe all you read on FB, but still....

I was just asking someone today if those two residences were searched! My goodness, I hope they were searched a LONG time ago!

Why would she lie to her family and not her friend about going to see the uncle? Did her and the uncle have something going on?

Hey guys! I just wanted to clarify a few things.

I keep seeing mention of BW's family not caring that she left barefoot for her Uncle's house 40 miles away. BW's family didn't "let" her go to her Uncle's house as they weren't even aware she was going there. She told her family she was going to a friend's house and she told her friend she was going to her Uncle's house.

Also, I think "on foot" somehow got turned into "barefoot". I'm pretty sure "on foot" was to say "she was walking, not in a car". Her last reported outfit was a blue tank top, jean shorts, and white flip flops. I was at search headquarters yesterday and they are indeed looking for white flip flops.

Also, Uncle DH's son, from what I can tell, is the ONLY person that claims to have seen BW after DH shot himself. That has not been verified.

I do not know BW but I am a local and will be happy to answer any questions that I can. Thank y'all! I was just telling a friend on the phone all about Websleuths and how great the members here are!

I don't believe the SON claims to have seen her. On facebook, he states a neighbor saw BW and an unidentified man at the Styxx house while his dad was in the hospital. He doesn't say where he learned this information or who told him or whether it was even first hand so I don't know how much value I put into BW actually being sighted while his dad was in the hospital, but what it does tell me is that the son is saying BW was at the Styxx house, which I believe is inconsistent with what his mom says.

No news. Nothing has been found so far that I'm aware of. There were 103 volunteers yesterday. I haven't been to headquarters today but another Websleuths member has. I just spoke with her and she said there were only 40 or so volunteers today. I'm sure she'll be in later with more info. JMO, but after speaking with her, I think they're starting to wind down. I think she agrees.

On another note, does anyone think human trafficking could play into this somehow? And if so, do we think UDH's FB album "Girls at the Condo" would have anything to do with that? I've gotten quite a bit of alarming information about Gulf Coast human trafficking in the past day or so. I never would have considered it as a possibility in the past but now I'm not so sure we should dismiss it. I SO hope this isn't going to be another unsolved case. I'm so sad for her little girl.

I'm not sure that I believe that's what happened, but I do wonder about it. I just recently discovered that the Gulf Coast area has the second highest rate of human trafficking in the nation, behind California. It's apparently a huge problem in Pensacola, FL which is no more than 30 minutes from where the Uncle's condo is.

I'm just wondering how that FB album "Girls at the Condo" ties into the situation, if it does. Anyone have any thoughts on that?

I think Uncle Donnie was in the middle of a full blown mid life crisis...
I dont see him selling anyone...
Maybe they were drinking or doing drugs and then sheet happend
he covered it up and went home and ended his life.

I do think Brittney is missing because of UNcle Donnie.

Money right? They don't do it for free I assume... Gosh, I hope she's not entangled with human trafficking... that scares the beejees outta me and there's not much that does that to me anymore. Reminds me of Natile Hollway... any guess to what happened to that poor girl.. ugh.

I believe that the death was drug related and he was responsible or felt responsible for providing the drugs.
