From what I recall he's not married with no kids.

I believe he was in "love" with the survivor.

Scott has grown children and will be a grandfather soon. Some of this is in the social media thread.

But I don't believe he is currently married. I have a vague recollection that he had asked for prayers for his former spouse when his facebook was open.

I find it interesting that even though the letter was for Wendy they mentioned Jennifer first in the list. That and the fact they didn't spell Brittney's name right makes me think this is a non-family member. My gut still tells me that there was someone else leading this group... or should I say using this group for some personal gain.

BBM

I've thought for some time that someone still under the radar is connected and profiting from the actions of this group.

If Brittney was murdered how can these letters by Brittney have info about Donalds Murder?

  • #1,085
So....did this friend of Britt's show the letters to this other person?
Why didn't this friend hand over the letter to LE when Britt went missing?
And why would this person go and tell Wendy? Instead of go to LE and tell what she knew.

The police was serious when very early on in the case they said "tip of the iceberg".

When the tip of the iceberg melts, more "ice" comes up.

I have a feeling we are close to a solution - by solution I mean knowledge about what really happened with Brittney.

As to the one writing the letter spelling her name wrong; it's not strange. In the beginning it was a lot of confusion here on WS as to how her name was spelled.

I have a fairly common middle name myself, but aunts, uncles and even great grandma have all spelled it wrong.

I believe the letter is written by a female.

Ok back!

First thing:
The letters that were found at Wendy's were correspondences between herself and another person. The letters were not from Brittney. There are several of these letters.
I have taken screen grabs of the letters images in case anyone wants to analyze them, however I think I have a good conclusion here:
There are no margins, the lines are blue and there is no perforation: this was written on a white legal sized paper.
Who has this sort of paper? Inmates.
This was written in pencil: inmates aren't given pens.
This was written in pretty feminine style but not cursive: Anyone 30 and over normally writes in cursive/normal. Cursive is no longer taught in school and hasn't been for awhile. This is person is feminine and under 30.

They spelled a lot : alot. That's the only thing I noted as being wrong.
They listed Jennifer first - this shows importance to the writer. The writer lists people and if you know anything about analyzation when it comes to lists: people always list who is more vital to them from most to least.

The list goes:
Jennifer
Brittney
Wendy
Mendy

Odd that she didn't start out saying "You". This person must know Jenn personally.

TY so much. I would definitely like to see the letters. really interesting. you can tell a lot from penmanship and you mention some great points. Interesting the order the names are listed too. b is second.

Definitely looks like inmate paper to me- sometimes they do get pens.
If it came from jail it would have been read by the jail first ( all letters have a stamp on the envelope- letter originated from /screened by DOC ) I wonder if authorities let these tidbits and correspondence through to the outside as part of their fishing net- to catch them all.

OMG these people
You know...was anyone else bothered by the statement of the neighbor re. Jennifer? " just a normal american family" :jail:

to the people in this forum. :loveyou:

I don't see Derrick or anyone very young using the word, "pertaining."

Pretty big word for one of those pervs. Also, "Brittany" is the old, proper spelling.

The punctuation and spelling of the letter rules out a lot of family members, from what I've seen of their writing. It's an educated adult, I'm sure. But they have PRINTED (by hand, if you know what I mean) the letters, rather than writing in adult, joined-up writing. That's what people do when they are trying to disguise their handwriting. I think there's a good possibility Wendy never knew who this letter was from, because it was anonymous.

There wouldn't have been much point in writing the warning to Wendy, if Brittney had been alive to write another letter herself and put it into safekeeping. So I think the writer knew Brittney was dead and safely out of the way, when he/she wrote it. There's a good possibility it could be from the person who murdered Brittney, I think. They could have forced her to reveal that info, before killing her.

No wonder Brittney's friends have been so silent around this case. They must have been scared stiff. That person who can't remember her call to them - I wonder if that could be the person she gave the letter to? One of the last people she spoke to......maybe she was under threat then, to get the letter back, and called that person in a last attempt to save her life. :(

Andrew Perez deserves a fan club. Has he stuck with this story, or what? He is as concerned about finding Brittney as getting a story, I am sure. What a great guy.

Who's got a way of searching through old, saved social media posts from people in this case, for the word 'pertaining'?

  • #1,092
Apart from us lot and Andrew Perez, there is something that comes up under searches for 'Brittney Wood, "pertaining to" in 2012. Not linkable though as it could so easily be just coincidence. The apostrophes are needed around the words or it's not easily found.

ETA: authorities use it a lot too, Lol. I'm not casting aspersions there!.......although someone with some connection to the military.....?

The way the letters flow together, makes me believe it's a female and they are NOT disguising their handwriting. If you were trying to disguise it, each letter would be drawn individually IMO. Also, I'd bump the age range up to 40. I'm in my late 30s and rarely use cursive. My friends do not either. My 60+ mother and 90+ grandmother use cursive almost exclusively.

If a person was manipulative and thinking ahead, they might deliberately missspell Brittney's name to give the impression they were not that close to her.

Of the name in general, or was that this Brittney's original given name?

http://voices.yahoo.com/how-guess-someones-age-through-online-handwriting-859565.html

" Those born after 1988 tend to use short sentences; as age gets younger, the sentences get shorter. While it is possible for those born before 1985 to be firmly versed in modern technology and abbreviated writing, their notes tend to be different, with more use of proper punctuations because this was how they were taught to think; in whole sentences.

~Writer two with the sentence, 'I have got to go, see you later.' is trying to say goodbye quickly, and in short thoughts like writer one. This writer chose not to make two sentences of his thoughts, and instead made two thoughts into one long sentence. This person was born after 1960 and before 1975. During the mid-1970's, the use of a comma starts to fade out of our way of thinking and writing."

I thought about that age range as well. The cursive and "Brittany" almost date the age. I am 60 and my cursive has evolved to some letters looking almost printed. Wonder if the letter was dictated to someone?
Looks like it's time for a new Thread but at least the new one will be a different chapter.

Who might Brittney have told about the letter?

A person she really trusted?

Or the person she thought was a threat to her?

ETA: If the person she gave it to was so scared, I doubt they would have told anyone they had it.

General. I noticed the name being spelled Brittney about 20 years ago. Before that time the proper spelling was Brittany, i.e. of Britain.
