Hi there. Been reading this chain for a while but this is my first post. Thanks for all the info you're providing Zeaux!

This comment about "take care of the kids" once he's gone seems ironic given that he was allegedly not allowed near them and in light of the other circumstances here

Pretty ironic.

I'm glad to help. I don't feel like I know a lot, but there's so much confusion & lack of information that I hope to straighten it out a bit so these great minds can do their thing!

Zeaux, thank you for your help. My problem following this case has to do with the family connections and how everyone is related. Mainly, I'm not sure how long Uncle DH was in Brittney's life. Did he just marry WWH in 2009? I was thinking two sisters may have married two brothers at different times. I'm so confused!

DH and WWH have been married or together for around 14 years. So, he's been in BW's life since she was quite young.

Easy to read explanation of charges - http://www.houseofruthdothan.org/rapelaws.htm

Bringing forward from 1st thread.

In Dustins case the charges make it appear to be 2 victims since the Rape in the second degree involves a child between 12 and 16 and Sodomy in the first degree involves a child less then 12.Unless it happened twice at different ages with the same person.

Looking at his Myspace he seemed so innocent. :(

New thoughts here after the news. Maybe the relatives (all 3) were caught doing whatever it is they werent supposed to be doing with the victim(s) by BW before she dissapeared. She caught wind that LE was asking questions about them (4 months), she knew it had been going on and they(3 relatives) knew she knew. I am thinking this because the LE put the statement out that "she wasnt in any trouble".

Or

BW went into hiding because she knew about the investigation and she might be asked if she had been a victim at one time....LE was getting around to her turn and she didnt want to admitt it had happened to her.

Or she called her Uncle and told him the cops are going to arrest you and everyone will know what you did. (wasnt her last call to her Uncle?)

The victim didn't come forward till after Brittneys disappearance.
I'm beginning to think though that something awful happened to Brittney and thats why her uncle committed suicide. :(

What irritates me is I live in Birmingham, AL and BW has not been on our news at all and no one who is on my facebook has posted anything about her or a flyer. It doesn't make since to me why missing personscases do not get more attention. I mean you could walk right past a missing or endangered person at yur local store or walmart and most people would never know they were missing.

I wonder whether mobile carriers might collaborate on a MP network, for which we could opt in or out, so that a text/picture of a MP in one's neighbourhood was automatically sent under specific circumstances. You'd have it in your hand, as it were, making it easier to refer to and remember. I wonder if that might up the odds or speed up recovery in enough instances to make it worthwhile. I might look into a trial version here.

best,

s

I want to add my thanks to Zeaux for her even-handed and informative posts. It must be very difficult to walk that fine line, and Zeaux, you are doing an excellent job.

Not much to add here except my hope that Brittney is brought home. When I read Scott Wood's Facebook a few days ago, my heart broke for him when he asked where everyone was to help with the search. If I lived closer, I would have gotten hold of Scott to offer my search services. How deceiving looks are, eh? You would think both of those guys are nice, middle-aged married family men by looking at their FB pages.

I am beyond disgusted, and if this was a movie, I would have walked out immediately, sick to my stomach. But we're here for Brittney, who never had a decent chance in life. This is such a tragic story on so many levels. My prayers are with Brittney's loved ones and her little daughter that this nightmare will soon end for Brittney.

Now that I'm somewhat over the SHOCK of the news about Donnie & the arrests of the other 2 uncles, I can't help focusing on Scott Wood..From the moment he stepped up to the plate to help find Britt I thought he was the most DECENT member of this extremely dysfunctional family..I had a ton of respect for him but then that got blown to bits & it felt like a punch to the gut.

Of all the family FB pages his was the most 'normal'..There's a pix of him returning from Iraq (still in uniform) with his family..He appeared proud to serve his country & I was proud of him..Now he makes me SICK to my stomach too! Donnie's FB page & his 'peeping Tom' act with all those young 'condo girls' immediately raised a red flag..Even before seeing that for some reason he grossed me out..I haven't looked thru much of Kent's page but most, including myself, agree he looks pretty "creepy".

ITA! about Zeaux & if this was a movie it would be one I would have NO desire to see!

Hope they find Brit very soon!

Where did you read that at?

upthread by Zeaux "If it helps, the investigation into DH had been going on for 4 months or so. The witness didn't just come forward around the time of BW's disappearance. "

I'm surprised the news never mentioned this as being a possible reason for why he committed suicide.

Hi! Have you heard about the Polly's Guardian Angel app? I know it's not exactly what you're talking about but it is a great tool to have! KlaasKids came up with it but I hadn't actually heard of it until I volunteered to search for BW.

If a child goes missing within a certain radius of where you live, you receive an instant alert with the child's picture and description. Of course, it only alerts people that have downloaded the app, but it's a good start! It's free and I think everyone should have it!

I'm under the impression that the media is not aware of the investigation. But perhaps they're aware now.

Ok this is a very long shot, but I've learned from time to keep an open mind....has the boyfriend from TX been located/questioned? Just because the family is involved in such horrific things does not mean they were the only people capable of harming BW. Again seems unlikely but it's not impossible. Also, if she felt her child might have been exposed to abuse the uncles could have had further reason to prevent her from talking. Horrible to think about but I'm really looking for possible motives of her to want to reach out to her uncle tht night with no ride or anything. Could it be that she possibly thought he was suicidal and she needed to go there? Of course these are open ended thoughts/questions, just trying to piece things together in my mind.

i dont think that info has been confirmed by investigators. so i doubt media would want to report hearsay and rumors as news.

it seems clear now that an uncle or multiple uncles wanted her silent. Unless they had a lot of money to pay off BW, it seems their only means of silencing her was to kill her and hide her body. If one of these guys lived in Tennessee at least part of the time, Brittney could have been dumped almost anywhere.
