It's a shame it has taken this long for LE to state what they have now stated. For the locals that have been good enough to share with us before, these interviews give the impression LE is more active in dealing with Brittney's case now. Is it your thoughts this is true or is it lip service?

Ok, I'll admit, maybe I need to just go to bed. Crazy thought popped in my head. Has anyone else gone missing since last Friday? Is it possible Derek took care of things himself this past week and knew he had to ditch the bracelet to do so? Ok, too many tv shows and movies here.

Outside of the box thinking, yes! ;-)

Hey, with this bunch, your 'crazy' thought is certainly within the realm.

Up until now, I'd thought DW was just on-the-run cuz he didn't want to comply, and he turned himself in only to save his own asterisk.

You give me pause to consider further. Why now, Derek, why NOW?

Im actually glad he ran, cause Brittney is in he news again. ;)
And to be honest I still believe he is a victim in this, but time will tell and of course I could be terribly wrong.

I believe he is a perp!
I dont think hes a good guy!
Hes charged with some nasty crimes!

I have said from day one he knows where his sister is.
the family and the family pervs got her out of town before the sheet hit the fan.

I dont think these animals will start talking about where she is.
I think they will take their chances on her staying missing!

Okay, so the way the story is being told is that Derek wanted to see his little brother, TJ. According to one of Chessie's sisters (FWIW), TJ was released from jail earlier on the same day that Derek turned himself in.

The same sister has recently commented that her now deceased husband was the last person to see Brittney, FWIW. <modsnip>

Derek was in jail when Brittney disappeared, but I think it is a reasonable assumption that he knows quite a bit about many of Brittney's past activities. It's also very possible that he knows quite a bit about his funny uncles and some of their proclivities and activities.

If he goes the route of sharing information with BCSO, it could help the investigation of the sexual abuse as well as Brittney's disappearance.

My opinion is that he is at a crossroads. He can honor the victims by giving up some truths or honor the [alleged at this point] perps by keeping the silence.

MOO.

Totally agree. Guess we will just have to sit back and see which route he chooses. :please:

Maybe and a big Maybe here but what if Derek ran because he wanted to try and get more info from the perts as to what happened to his sister. He got what he needed and that is when he turned himself in. Maybe he needed to ask his brother some things before turning himself in. What makes me think this is all of sudden once he turned himself in BSCO started to say that the cases may all be linked where before the stated that they were not. I so hope they can figure it all out and bring Brittney home. There is not a day go by that I do not think of her.

Hopefully Derek is talking as I post this. I don't know why else LE would be questioning him again. His lawyer wouldn't allow it I wouldn't think.

Unless now that Derek is facing serious jail time for certain (because he ran), he's "talking" or giving more info to try and strike a plea deal. His lawyer would obviously be involved heavily in that, along with any meeting where Derek spoke.

For a broke family, how is Derek affording a lawyer or is this his public defender?

Most people on the run will go WITH their atty to turn themselves in. Seems like a lawyer was hired during the "turning" in aspect but then again, I'm going off of a timeline on fox10 and trying to piece things together.

Just my opinion though and basing it on how selfish Derek is to start with.

Wow not sure how many twists this case has taken.

That was as well my first thought. That he will talk in the hopes of a reduction in either charges and/or prison time.

It's hard to say. I think it seems like they are doing more now, than when she went missing. Maybe LE presumes her dead so they had to build a case first in order to find a body or evidence?

some of you are giving this guy way to much credit. lol !
a punk like this has no conscience. anti -social personality disorder, bad seed , psychopath whatever you want to call it. look at the attitude on fb and in the court video clips from the news.
he may however give up some info to help his own self in a plea deal. he is a product of bad upbringing plus bad genes. probably turned himself in because he was afraid to be shot plus he had no money or means to run. life on the lam is too hard. this way he gets 3 hots and a cot plus medical and dental care on our dime.

Bump for Brittney.
Someone (or several someones) know where she is and what happened to her.

Brittney has a daughter who will grow up not knowing her mama is dead or alive unless this person(s) speaks out or Brittney is somehow miraculously stumbled upon. I think about how frustrating this is for us on this forum who don't even know Brittney to have no clue what has happend to her. Well, that is going to be her baby's LIFE everyday (and this is her mother, not a stranger) until someone comes forward.

I wish someone would just write an anonymous letter to LE telling them where to look...I am begging any "guests" out there who know where Brittney can be found to go to local library, type up an anonymous letter telling LE where to look, and send it in. Please! For her daughter!
