Regarding the bullets in the gun...I read somewhere that this specific kind of gun had a tendency to jam on the third bullet. I don't remember where I read this so I don't have a link. It was a comment made by someone who (supposedly) was familiar with guns and it was on some gun owners forum. In searching for this specific link again I can find no reference in any of the descriptions of the gun. Again it was someone's personal comment.

I found it interesting in possibly explaining why the gun had only 2 bullets (according to Chessie).

:: kudos to autocorrect for any replaced words that make no sense::

I found a few articles about it jamming but couldn't find one about the 3rd bullet. Some of the gun forums also mentioned that the bullets were more expensive, if that is true, i can see why she didn't buy any more than the two it came with.

I would love to see a map showing the movement of cell phones for each of the players for the days leading up to DH's suicide. I certainly would think and hope that LE has done this.

""All we reported to the family is that we had information through our investigation that puts [Wood] in the Grand Bay area or south Mobile County at or around same time [Holland] is committing suicide,” (MPD Cpl. Chris)Levy said""

Interesting, isn't it...
Very interesting. It means the pings from BW's cell phone came on Friday, June 1, NOT Thursday, May 31, as was erroneously reported earlier, and re-stated as fact.

Deputies said Holland was found two days later with a self-inflicted gunshot wound on June 1. He died in the hospital June 4.

A source close to the investigation said Holland was a suspect in that same family sex abuse case and was expected to meet with authorities June 1, about half an hour after he shot himself.

BUT,,,,,
DK was trying to shed his tether also.
I think they might be on to something!

I don't think he was trying to shed it. It simply alerted LE he was somewhere he wasn't supposed to be at a time he wasn't supposed to be there. If there is a link that he tried to shed it, I'd love to see it because that would put a different spin on it.

I do not think they will find anything beause Derek had long enuff time to move whatever was there.

Didnt he say he wanted to see his Brother?

Where was Bro at this time.

My guess this is the excuse he gave for being in the location where they caught him.

You do know though, unless I'm mistaken, that DW was in jail when Brittney went missing.

I don't have a link...or thread to link...and I don't want to add any "hearsay"...but I am pretty sure we were told that the gun only had 2 bullets in it when BW acquired it, and she never purchased any more for it. I'll go search for the thread.

Are we sure Brit left her home?
All we have is Chessies say so and a cell phone ping!

Pretty certain or she would have been found by now I would hope. Though, you never know with the apparent little effort put into the investigation.

That would certainly shed some light on things.

Well a cell ping does not mean she was there her phone was and who saw her at the river Styx area?
My question is could something have happend to her at home.
I have yet to hear or read anything that says she was seen anywhere other than Chessie saying B left

And NO i didnt think she was Chillin out.

Im wondering to what lengths this family will go to keep the Husbands out of jail!
They ALL knew this stuff was comming.

I could be wrong, but I believe there were 2 different pings. One was from a phone call, which I'm sure LE could verify with the person on the other end of the call if it was Brittney and that ping, I believe placed her at Styx River. The second ping in question I believe was from a text message and the ping came from Grand Bay late Thursday going into Friday morning. That last ping is indicative of where her phone was, not necessarily Brittney. I would have to double check but that is my recollection.

Brittney supposedly acquired the gun not long before she disappeared. Her mother either saw it or Brittney told her about it. It's been so long now that I can't remember the details, but I believe she actually saw it (Brittney was "proud" of it). When Brittney acquired it, it only had 2 bullets and she never got more.

Zeaux got her information from family members. :twocents:

IMO We don't have a positive sighting of Brittney after she leaves her mother's house in Tillman's Corner. Chessie said she was going to "Kourtney's" house but never showed up. The only connection we have for Brittney being at the Styx River location is that Donnie was in possession of her gun.

It later came out that Donnie picked Brittney up at Tillman's Corner. I don't know how we can verify that now that Donnie's gone. Nothing places Brittney at Styx River besides her cell phone pinging off the tower there. IMO anyone could have used her phone.

This week's search at Rangeline Road was based on Donnie's phone records.

Not if it was an actual telephone call and the person on the other end confirms it was Brittney they spoke to.

I was going to say it's not just the gun that places Brittney at Styx River, but her cell phone as well, but I see you included that later. I could be wrong, but I believe WWH has also admitted Brittney was with Donnie, though her stories have been all over the place.

I don't know about that, Reedus.

You are right Footballmom, it's been awhile. I'm trying to find a MSM link for KlaassKIDS stating Brittney made a call from Styx River. Can you help me out here? All I can find is that her cell phone pinged a mile from there. Thanks!!

I believe a verified insider provided that info.

  • #435
Thats all i can find also and i have gone and read the first thread all over again
all we have is a ping

I don't think there is a MSM article on it. That's the benefit of having insiders that are verified. Of course, their information is only as good as the information given to them be it by LE or others active in the investigation/searches.

Here's a tip. To add a link for an individual post, click the post number (upper right hand corner of the post box). The post will open in a separate tab or window, depending on your browser settings. Copy the url and paste it in your post editor. The link will appear in your post.

Yes, a MSM quote from Maj. Anthony Lowery pretty much trumps anything the family might have put out there. Which one would hold up in court? :twocents:

Exactly. And that is precisely why it is important to re-evaluate information and attempt to corroborate it between sources. I've never seen another case here where the resistance to doing that was so strong. It's puzzling. Usually, members examine information over and over again to reach a concensus. :dunno:
