Zwi - you can come out from under your desk now. :giggle:

Who knows with this shifty group? Problem I see is getting a straight answer from any/many of them.

I believe the location of each of them during that critical time frame is key BUT, unfortunately, it's hard to trust a darn thing many of them say so hope LE has trustworthy, corroborated proof of just where each of them were.

I'm out - wasn't that bad. DW is one definitely not there I think? Do we know where DK was?

Agreed! Wasn't DW reportedly in communication with grand mama (where TJW was supposedly staying) while on the run?

Given all the trouble this family appears to be in and of their own making, I’d love to see a psychiatrists’ analysis (or someone in the field) of the following statement from your linked article:
[To set the scene: DW just turned himself in after cutting off his monitoring anklet, being a fugitive from justice for nearly a week while on bond for alleged sexual abuse charges, previous drug charges, and was found to have been living in a Meth house, IIRC – did I miss anything? Proud younger brother, TJW, states the following to the world:]

"My brother proved today that he is a real man, he walked out with his head held high," said [TJW].

If you wanted proof of warped sensibilities and moral judgements, there it is. I think the clue to what he was really looking for when he escaped, lies in where he was found - outside a house full of drugs.

LE once stated there were many more arrests to come, or something like that? I wonder if they are done yet? Or is it possible that another arrest in the future might shed more light on why Brittney had to be disappeared?

Or were plans to bring additional charges dropped because the star witness is no longer around? We'll probably never know, but LE does. And if that's the case, they know someone had a motive to harm BW, which should have given them cause to suspect foul play immediately.

  • #524
If I'm correct, it was a struggle to get Brittney listed as a 'missing' rather than 'voluntarily missing' person though?

And LE insisted for a long time her disappearance was not linked to DH's suicide, yet now they are searching in areas DH last visited?

I don't understand the official line of thinking in this case, let alone that of the various people charged with offences.

I really, really hope that Brittney has not been a victim in yet another way - that of 'well, she's from that family, with that history, so she's probably just taken off';

That would be a total, utter disgrace, if Brittney's disappearance was dismissed because of her 'type' without looking at who she was as an individual, as a human being, what the circumstances were.

It looks like she was a victim of her circumstances enough times in her life, without any final indignity being heaped upon her. If for no-one else, I hope Brittney is located for her little toddler's sake - just so when they are grown, they know that people thought their Mom was worth finding. That's the least the world can and should do.

True ... but it doesn't sound like what BW was doing in her life was helping herself out much in that category either. JMHO.

Additionally, doesn't sound like many in her family have been all that forthcoming and helpful in helping LE to discovery what happened to BW. JHMO.

Is anything planned for the six-month marker in two days since BW went "missing"? Are flyers still posted/being posted? Any effort to increase the reward amount? TIA

Very sad case!

Totally agree about the family. They could do much more. Why they haven't is an open question.

As for what Brittney was doing with her 'life chances' (for what they were), I think they are worth looking at to see what info they might provide about her disappearance, but I'm reluctant to think further than that. It's a personal thing, because I was fooled once by a murderer convincing me someone had run off because they would do that sort of thing, and they were not worth looking for, anyway. Never again.

I just prefer to think that everyone is well worth finding, good, bad or indifferent. It's safer that way. I am sure her missing anniversary will be marked by candles and prayers. The only thing missing will be information, as usual.

I just try to look at the situation as realistically as possible. I too believe all missing people are “worth” looking for! Sounds like you are using your experience in a positive direction.

In this case, I wish those who were searching for answers/BW had more support, and more honest accounts from all involved. I hate to see good, kind-hearted people put time and effort into searching for someone when some of those closest to the missing seem to be withholding/fudging/twisting/changing the truth.

Your post up-thread about how no one in this case, despite the questionable activities, has left town/fled the area was a good point/observation. Along those lines coupled with other factors in play, I think it is unlikely that BW ran away or is in hiding. JMHO.

“The only thing missing will be information, as usual.” – Yes and so sad! It’s not too late - any one of them can still step up to the plate and do what is right! Eventually, the truth will come out! In the meantime, poor BW is left in limbo and her darling little cherub is left wondering why she can't see her mommy.

I'm just rubbish at dealing with cases involving children. Just makes me want to bang my head against the wall. I am just so glad Brittney's child has been saved from what I am sure was awaiting her. And wherever Brittney is now, I bet she's thankful too.

Just to be totally blunt for a minute, Oriah, one of our verified Search and Resue professionals, has said on Bob Harrod's thread that a properly trained dog could tell the difference between a shoe that was dropped from a living person, and a shoe that was dropped when that person had died, a couple of minutes later.

So as far as I can tell, it would be no problem for a dog to detect if Brittney had been killed in a vehicle - even if she was alive in that vehicle, minutes before. Or even if someone else had died in that vehicle. Have we ANY idea if DH's vehicle and the white SUV are still around?

  • #531
It is just that I don't think LE could have carried out a cadaver search for Brittney's body at the time DH committed suicide, because they still thought she was voluntary missing then.

I'd love to line the family up for lie detector tests!
I've yet to hear of anyone in this family taking one...although I'm sure CH and SH would take one willing.

btw...wonder if any fights broke out this Thanksgiving? At last year's Wood's family Thanksgiving didn't a fight break out and Derek was hit in the face with a tire tool or something?...while someone else was driving their truck through the yard?

I want to post an update on the other thread under spotlight on children. How do I find that thread? Thanks so much!

  • #534
Tidbit - Will help if I can but I often have great difficulty maneuvering the folders here on WS.

There is a BW associated thread in the "Similar Threads" below in the "Missing Children in America" forum. Is that the thread you are looking for? If so, that thread is now closed.

ETA: Other option is to do a key word search or ask a Mod.

Thanks Quester. I don't know if that's it or not. It was where we could post about the accused perps. I may take your advice and ask a Mod.

I found it by searching a name!

More charges!!!!!

Authorities also said bits and pieces of the sexual abuse investigation is connected to Brittney Wood, and bits and pieces are not.

This.. is amazing and shocking and sad at the same time.
Maybe I don't have much faith in the justice system after Caylee Anthony, but it's so nice to have it come through for once.
On the other hand, I am absolutely disgusted and hope this woman rots with her husband. A bit strong? not at all. :jail:

Good grief, what else is going to shake loose from this tree? So, is she being held or will they release her? I feel like I can't remove my hands from over my eyes because I won't be able to handle it if/when they release her...we need justice for the victims, and for Brittney.
