Somebody in the background that wants their own name kept quiet may have come up with the money to bond her out?

Still don't know how WWH got out either.

Apparently, finding Brittney was not a priority to use their money then.

I don't think they raised all that much money to find Brittney! They hardly made an effort!

Steph, I have a question & hoping you can answer it...

Being a rape victim (at any age) is a horrible experience. The repercussions last for years, possibly forever. Long term psych therapy is an absolute must. Many times anti anxiety or anti depressant scrips are writ. Activities to deter thinking too deep is necessary for healing. Its a long road but achievable...

Having said that, could you please share with us this: Once the allegations surfaced when Britt was 9, did she see a therapist? Or just clergy? If she saw a therapist, how long did she go? Long term or short term? Once she went to court, did the judge mandate psych therapy & if so was it with a forensic psychologist or psychiatrist? Or did she just go see a counselor that doesn't have the same credentials as a psychologist or psychiatrist? Was she prescribed medication?

Heavy hitting degree holders should be utilized first before going to just any old counselor bc they have much more knowledge on how to dig deeper. Whereas a counselor sort of could be compared to a drug & alcohol counselor, or a marriage therapist. They're still wonderful for therapy but a rape victim needs a heavy hitter iykwim...

Popping in as Payton naps..
I was not in the family at that time. But I did ask CW if Britt had therapy for that and her answer was quote "No, I was told not to force her to go and she didn't want to". Which I responded the He** you can't whose the mom and whose the child? I NEVER agreed with that once I was told. I use to tell both CW & Wally that was part of Britt's acting out and bad behavior that she was never treated for what happened to her. IMO that is why all 3 kids are on drugs and making bad choices, they are self medicating!

How can she go home to her kids? Didn't DH have to stay in a different location?

Yes, I think so, but wasn't that mentioned under his bail conditions? I didn't see any like that mentioned for CW.

I hope I don't get in any trouble for saying this. But I know for a FACT that CW is GOOD long time girlfriends with a long time employee of a bonding company and JMO strings were pulled to get her out!

:waitasec: She can't have contact with that one child, the accusing victim, is what the article said, so I guess she can be around all other children. I don't understand.

From what I understand she just had to make bail and no contact with the victim. No ankle monitor and not ordered to stay away from children under 18 like the others.:banghead:

So am I correct to assume that she probably got bonded out last night? I didn't look at MCSO website until this morning.

A Mobile County District Court judge ruled this morning that Chessie Wood could leave jail ahead of further court proceedings provided she pay a total of $65,000 cash or corporate surety.

She was ordered to pay $25,000 for each of her two counts of first-degree sodomy and $15,000 for her charge of sex abuse of a child less than 12.

She remains in jail as of 5 p.m., according to booking records

Ok this was yesterday! There is no way she came up with that much money!

Bravo Steph!!!!!!

-- The recent arrest of Chessie Wood, mother of missing Mobile woman Brittney Wood, is likely to make some people shy away from searching for the missing Mobilian, according to Brittney Wood's stepmother, Stephanie Hanke.

"We have continued to search and we will continue to search," Hanke said today, noting a recent search by Hanke and a group of volunteers in March

This is really quite depressing. It seems like children are being left unprotected for months, while LE gets their case together.

Nice to hear CW has friends in the right places. Maybe they can explain to her why you don't get to choose your own questions in a lie detector test - or even better, remind her that the first one to the DA usually wins.
