Tuscaloosa police are searching for a missing man. They are looking for 97-year-old Cecil McAllister. He was last seen Tuesday evening in the 200 block of 70th Way NE near Hurricane Creek. His family says he routinely walks five miles each day.

Just saw a news report from the LE searching. The weather is awful today. 70s this morning and low 40s by lunch with a line of rain/storms coming through. That’s not going to help the search unfortunately.

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency on Thursday issued a Missing Senior Alert for McAllister. He was last seen wearing jeans, a red plaid button-down shirt and a baseball hat. He was carrying a walking stick.

McAllister is 5-feet, 4-inches tall and weighs 130 pounds. Authorities said he may be suffering from a condition that impairs his judgment.

Tuscaloosa Fire and Rescue crews will resume their search Saturday morning for 97-year-old Cecil McAllister.

K-9 units will take part in Saturday’s search around Keenes Mill Road.

Searchers also looked in the areas near McAllister’s residence and Tuscaloosa Memorial Park, where he sometimes visits the grave of his wife Imogene, who died in 2008.

If I'm not mistaken, when I looked at maps last night, Tuscaloosa Memorial Park is at the corner of Keenes Mill Road, which was mentioned in the last post.

Body found in creek during search for missing Cottondale man

The Tuscaloosa Fire Department’s Swift Water Rescue Team found the body of a man Saturday in Hurricane Creek.

According to Tuscaloosa police, they were searching for Cecil McAllister, a 97-year-old Cottondale man who has been missing since Tuesday, when the male victim was found in the creek near the Holt-Peterson Cutoff Road area.

Katz Eye, yes, what a beautiful post. I believe Mr. McAllister died doing what he loved, and I hope his death was painless, and that he was quickly ushered into Heaven where, as you say, all of his walks will be forever safe!
