Thanks ElishiaMarie! She was such a beautiful lady. I feel so bad for the children. The little boy found her when he came in from school. I read the father committed suicide last year. Prayers going up for those 2 children.

SHELBY COUNTY, Ala. (WIAT) — UPDATE: According to the sheriff’s office, Adam Michael Burrus is now in custody in connection to Constance Leigh Woolweaver’s death.

The preliminary hearing for Burrus is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017, in Shelby County District Court with Judge Daniel Crowson, according to court records.

Highland Lakes murder suspect ordered to submit samples for DNA testing

According to court documents, Adam Burrus has been ordered to submit a cheek swab and a blood sample. The Shelby County District Attorney’s Office said in the documents that many items of evidence obtained as a result of the investigation were stained with what is believed to be blood and other bodily fluids.

A preliminary hearing was originally scheduled for Wednesday morning, but it has been moved to April 5.

Adam Michael Burrus, 38, was set to have a preliminary hearing Monday morning in Shelby County Circuit Judge Daniel Crowson's courtroom. That hearing has been reset for October 4.

Burrus is charged with murder in the December 2016 death of Connie Overstreet Woolweaver, who was found dead in her home by her 13-year-old son when he arrived home from school.

On 24 June 2019 Adam Burrus was sentenced to life in prison for the murder of Connie Woolweaver. They had been business partners, and Connie had borrowed a large sum of money to Burrus, and she wanted the money back.

Shelby County Circuit Judge Bill Bostick on Monday delivered the sentence to 39-year-old Adam Burrus. He was convicted last month in the shooting death of Connie Woolweaver, whose body was discovered by her young son in the stairwell of their Highland Lakes home.
