Search underway for missing woman not seen in over 2 weeks | CBS 42

The Birmingham Police Department is searching for a woman who has not been seen for more than two weeks.

34-year-old Crystal Lawson has not been seen since Dec. 17 when she left in a family member’s vehicle in the 8000 block of 1st Avenue South.

She is described as being 5-foot-2 and weighing 115 pounds.

•She has tattoos on the right side of her neck and a face tattoo on her left shoulder.

According to Birmingham police, the vehicle was found abandoned in Clay. Her family said her person belongings, including keys and her purse, were found in the vehicle. She has missed more than a week of work and missed Christmas with her two sons, which family said is completely out of character for her.

Her phone is not specifically mentioned but I'm wondering if it is part of her "personal belongings" found in the vehicle.

There is more than one Walmart near 1st Ave but I went with the one between there and Clay, AL. Overall, a distance of about 16 miles.

BPD Officer Truman Fitzgerald said detectives are conducting a missing person investigation into the whereabouts of Crystal Lawson, 34, of Birmingham. Lawson is a Black female, 5 feet 2 inches tall weighing 115 pounds.

“Lawson was last seen on Thursday ,December 17, 2020 in the 8000 block of 1st Avenue South when she left the area in a family member’s vehicle,” Fitzgerald said. “The vehicle has since been located in the Clay, Alabama area.”
