Valley police continue searching for teen missing for more than a month

Valley police and a worried Chambers County family have been searching for more than a month now for a missing 16-year-old Valley teen.

The family of Darren Earles is desperate for information regarding the missing boy who was last seen leaving Valley High School on October 25th, 2018. Valley Police say the teen may be a runaway and as of the week after Thanksgiving, they have no new information to share with the public regarding the missing teen.

Case Warriors for the Missing picked up Darren's story and shared his picture and information on their social media page. The volunteer group advocates for the missing and their families.

Valley police believe missing teen still in area and may be receiving help

City of Valley Police Department

PRESS RELEASE
December 13, 2018

The Valley Police Department is still investigating the disappearance of Darron Keith Earles, 16 year old white male of Valley. Earles was reported as a runaway on October 25, 2018. Investigation found that Earles had given his house key to a younger sibling on the day he left, telling them that he was not going to be coming home later. School friends advised that Earles had a backpack full of his clothing with him at school that day. No one has come forward stating that they had seen Earles getting into a vehicle prior to his disappearance. During the investigation, several members of Earles family have been interviewed. As a result of these interviews, investigators believe that Earles may still be in the area and receiving aid and shelter from some family members. If anyone has any information concerning the location of Earles, please call the Valley Police Department at 334-756-5200 or the Valley Area Crime Stoppers at 334-756-8200.

If family is involved and assisting him then they know things the police don't. It's not fair to worry the people that care about him but this sounds like a personal and not a police matter now. Darren, the age of consent in Alabama is sixteen. You CAN leave home without LE making you go back.

One good thing is that after all this he seems to be alive and well and has not come into any misadventure. He is seemingly getting help from someone, which makes you wonder what may have been happening to keep him away from home for so long.

Could there be issues at home ?
Could he have been bullied at school?
Could he be in trouble with a dealer or similar?

(although I would think he would let them know, unless the situation is so dangerous that he feels he has to try and them think he is possibly dead)

Just some thoughts

Just some possibilities.
