Another one close to home, around a holiday. I wonder what all has been done.

According to Weather Underground, there were heavy thunderstorms in nearby Birmingham beginning around 6:00 pm and reaching intensity around 6:45 pm and again around 8:30 pm. Would she really have gone out by herself in such bad weather—and on Christmas Day no less?

Then again, maybe she had fixed holiday plans with family and friends, and she wasn't going to let a storm get in her way of delivering presents, arriving with food, etc. December 25 was a Friday that year, so maybe she already had plans to stay over at her family's or friends'?

I wish we knew more.

Calera Police and the FBI announced they are reopening the cold case of Julie “Dani” Ray, who disappeared 10 years ago around Christmas 2015.

''CALERA, Ala. (WBRC) - Calera Police and the FBI announced they are reopening the cold case of Julie “Dani” Ray, who disappeared 10 years ago around Christmas 2015.

Ray was last seen in Calera on Christmas Eve 2015. Her father, Richard Bradshaw, said the last time he heard his daughter’s voice was that day.

“It is an answered prayer. I sat on the church pew many Sundays, Sunday nights, Wednesday nights, praying… When these gentlemen called me I just fell to my knees and thanked God,” Bradshaw said.''
