Either way, IMO he is holding himself up in a way that a child with significant physical developmental delays could not. So either his mystery illness had a very sudden onset, or it was an explanation for his sudden absence.

So they both opened a second a FB page June 3/4, using a different name Steve / Brad Collins, Wendy/Pam Bailey.

Baby Kaleb just looks so defeated. They are both such beautiful babies - this cushion appears to be from a Papasan chair and to hold himself the way he is he would need to have good muscle control, not the type of defects that Steven claimed in his Nov post.

My heart is just broken for these babies.

In this case, I think we all lean towards the "mystery illness" being an excuse as to why he is gone.

However, there are medical conditions that make a kid go back in development, lose developmental milestones they had before. It's called developmental regression and can happen with neuro-degenerative diseases, several genetic diseases and autism spectrum disorders. A good example is Rett syndrome, but this genetic condition almost always affects girls.

Other than their own families, I’ve seen nothing that indicates either of the parents had outside contact with anyone. Neighbors have provided some insight, but their comments in the media seem to be based on things they noticed when driving by the home. Not directly interacting, JMO.

I wish we knew more about the contact they had with CPS. How, why, and when was that contact initiated? Had either of the kids been to the Dr. recently I wonder?

When is the grandfather’s next court date? Can’t remember if records are searchable?

my kids had those as littles. I loved them because they were collapsible and could be tucked away when not in use.

Realize I may very well stand alone in this opinion, but I have my suspicions that all of the key adults are shady individuals and that the issues going on in that household were numerous, across the board, and ranged from less-than-ideal to extremely concerning/highly illegal and that it's almost too convenient to assume that all the issues and all culpability lie with the dead guy and that the 2 surviving members of the household (who also happen to be father/daughter) are mere victims in everything.

I find myself even questioning if I'm 100% absolutely sure that the car accident was purposeful/suicide.
If it was, was it just the plan of the driver and annihilating his partner & daughter was part of that plan and if so, why? And if it was just his secret plan and mom didnt know, why was Ryleigh unrestrained? Was it the plan of both adults and if so, again, why and how long before the drive was that plan made? Or was it a last minute decision? Why did they choose to have Ryleigh in the car as well? Was it not a plan at all and was the result of impaired driving due to alcohol or drugs or simply stupid & unsafe driving? Did the driver have a history of driving recklessly or at excessive speeds? Where were they planning to go? Were they known to always wear seatbelts themselves and/or to always have their children properly restrained in carseats that were the correct type for their children's ages/weights/heights or did they often forget or simply choose not to? Would anyone else even KNOW these answers about their usual car safety practices?

Edited to add: If this was pre-planned, and was the result of guilt about Kahleb or worry about it being found out that Kahleb was missing- was there significance to this day? Was CPS due to make a home visit soon? Were family members living out of state pressing more and asking more frequently about Kahleb or mentioning they wanted to visit soon? Had someone recently threatened to tell what they knew?

It could have been as simple as he found out she was planning to leave and take Ryleigh, and his angry reaction was to take them all out.

ALL OF THIS is what I have been wondering as well. Just so many questions and so few answers it is hard to gauge whether the wreck was a purposeful act or a severely negligent one with fatal consequences.

I so agree with your suggestion that there were a LOT of problematic things happening within that household. I do not jsut blame Steven as the mother and her father KNEW Kahleb was not at some mystery relatives IMO. They are part of whatever caused Kahleb to be disappeared, whether through acts or omissions, they are culpable in my mind, just as culpable as Steven Collins.

Was she planning to leave? I know a couple rumors have been swirling about this case but I also know the District Attorney's statement included that they "ask the public to be cautious about unverified information circulating on social media." and I've been so curious about which unverified info they are referring to ever since that statement was made, perhaps both?

I have no idea if that's a rumor, it was just a theory in my head, which is why I said it could have been. JMO. I've seen too many family annihilators on WS.

This does partially answer some of my questions..." evil person who preyed on a young woman". He is almost 20 years older than this very young mother.....
Does this Steven have any other children or previous marriage/relationship.
My guess is some of this information will be coming out.

I am feeling more and more that this poor mother was trapped. I feel the father does know more, but I wonder if he was feeling he had to protect his own daughter, even more than the kids.

Have we any updates on the status of the mom??

this article quotes Wendy Pam Bailey's aunt who stated Steven "preyed" on Pam and was a narcissist. She and other Bailey family members live out of state except for John bailey who lived with the couple in AL.
Where is Kahleb Collins?

from the way Pam's aunt worded it, I can only assume that some Bailey family members may have been concerned about the age difference between the couple. Perhaps they strenuously objected to Pam being with Steven. If so that could create an estrangement with the Bailey side of the family who still presumably reside in Louisiana. I can see how they would not know Kahleb was missing until the accident if that is true.

I read on Steven's Facebook and in one article
that he was estranged from/hadn't spoken with his brother for some time. Was Steven also "not in touch with" his other family members? If so I can see them not knowing baby K was missing.

Seems like Steven and Pam and her father John were their own little island

yeah, but the post is from about 3 years ago, I think around the time he got together with Pam Bailey. Wonder if those two events are tied together. Stress and new relationship with younger female.
