GUILTY AL - Kathleen "Kat" West, 42, murdered, Calera, 13 Jan 2018 *husband arrested*

This was date night w her husband. I believe, deleting your SM profiles in the face of your wife's death; looks very bad indeed.
Waiting for an arrest, and justice for Kat West.

Kathleen and her husband were out earlier that day, at a sports bar and later, both were seen on video, picking up 2 bottles of booze (one being a bottle of absinthe) so presumably they were both headed home together to have a few more drinks.

A few hours later, she was found dead outside their property, next to the bottle that (presumably) they had purchased earlier, so, how in this scenario, would it be possible for some random guy to briefly enter the picture, murder her, and then quickly escape, and the husband not know what happened?

She appears to have been with her husband right up until the moment she died. I think they were both intoxicated and things got way out of hand.

Would the husband not be arrested already? Lack of a blood trail, unless of course it hasn't been made public. IMO too much time has gone by without the husband's arrest.

What time were they in the liquor store? I don’t remember, but I want to say 10-11pm. She wasn’t found until 5am. There are at LEAST 5 hours unaccounted for, so I have to disagree with the assumption that she was with him right up until she died. There is zero proof to substantiate that statement (that we have access to or knowledge of).

Being found across the street with no clothes on except a sports bra, nothing on as reported, I'll assume she also had no footwear. So she's in a drunken state, and she leaves the house with no pants underwear jacket or shoes, just a bra on and carrying her cell phone and bottle. Respectfully disagree, but it just doesn't make sense to me. Time will tell soon enough.

What makes more sense?

I agree. not the husband.

There is no evidence she ever left the house to meet someone. There is no evidence she was killed in the house. There is evidence they were out drinking and even purchased more liquor to take home. She was found deceased across the street from her home with a liquor bottle on her cell phone. No official cause or manner of death determined to my knowledge.

Jeff is retired military with 21 years of service. It was reported that he was a staff sergeant. Depending on his grade he would make at least $35000 annually with 20 years of service.

Since the police seems to have come out almost immediately and indicated "homicide" and the chief's comments support that, I am guessing (and its only a guess) that was something about her head injury that indicated it was not from falling and hitting the street pavement or curb. And I also think that if the police believed it was an accident they would have given some indication of that and/or the husband or family would have come out and said so.

Yup, drunken falls cause superficial 'surface' wounds, not the amount in blood shown in online pics of scene. So, no accident IMO. I see two scenarios, husband guilty and staged scene, or she went down the wrong path with her online presence.

We are not aware of any evidence that she left the house or was killed in the house. That does not mean that it does not exist.

Still waiting on the announcement from LE.

I am still suspecting the husband. They were out that night, first at a sports bar (which according to reports he failed to admit) and then got liquor to take home. It's also the easiest explanation - as someone pointed out up thread a random attacker would be odd. At the very least how did they separate without him wondering where she was? I check on my friends if I know they've been drinking heavily; Lord knows I'd know where my spouse was. So IMO he's the last one to see her. Perhaps LE is waiting to gather more evidence? Also wondering if he is the beneficiary of her insurance.

In any case I hope whoever did this is caught, and justice is served.

I'm not much of a Facebook-er, but I thought I saw one for him (including a comment by KW's mom - on a recent photo). Maybe I'm wrong, or maybe there were other accounts he deleted.

We publicly have no evidence that she was even at the house. After they leave the liquor store we don't know what happened until she is found dead. We assume she was at the house but we don't know that. The police have been playing this very close to the vest.

True. We can only sleuth with what we know. We don't even know the cause & manner of death.

I wonder if there will be an arrest this week, or at least an LE update. I believe there was a LE statement a couple weeks ago of something to the effect that 'this is an isolated incident, and the community need not worry, we are making progress'

Sounds like they have suspect(s) on their radar, and probably playing a chess game getting all the evidence straight/test results etc, and a proper conviction. I'm still of the opinion there was escorting happening that night, and she was dumped off.

...and approx time of death.
I hope someone had a home mounted camera facing the street. ...some pick up sound even if no movement in camera range. Fingers crossed.

Thank you. Her hair appears quite a bit longer in the pic on the link compared to her most recent photos on Facebook. Which makes me think, it’s not a recent post, but one that has been there for quite a while. IMO, another aspect of her business and adds an even longer list of suspects. I could be wrong.

Three years old as she was 39 then and 42 now

This case is perplexing because its so hard to figure out how she got where she ended up, being nearly naked, the phone/bottle, etc. But I wonder if it wont be one of those situations where when the police finally lay it all out, we all say "oooohhh, of course, that makes sense." The problem we have in discussing and trying to analyze this case is that we just have so little information. Its either a case where there are just no clues, or the police have totally bungled it or they have just done a really good job of controlling the release of information.

Do we know where she was after she went to the liquor store?
