*Status Hearing (@ 8:30am CT) – AL – Kathleen Dawn “Kat” West (42) (Jan. 12, 2018, Calera) – *William Jeffrey West (44) (husband) arrested (2/22/18), indicted (3/7/18) & arraigned (4/9/18) with murder. Held on $500K bond. Plead not guilty. Bond reduction denied.
8/23/18 Update: Next hearing on 8/27.
8/27/18 Update: Jeff West attorney, John Robbins said there is still more discovery between prosecutors and himself which needed to take place before a trial date could be set. A new status hearing was scheduled for 12/3/18.

I haven't seen anything recent on this case. I wonder how this will play out.
Here is an article I found that I had not seen. Its from clear back in April, but it had some information I had not seen before.

I'm not sure why this case isn't moving forward. I wonder if a trial date is set and we just are not seeing it.

Curious to hear evidence about this case. Something went terribly wrong from the 8:45pm time stamped liquor store video, until her estimated time of death before midnight. He definitely snapped on their date night.

Well.... I looked at the court site this morning & his name has disappeared.... ?? Nothing thru 3/8 either.

Maybe it was an in camera hearing, meaning held in the judge's chambers. It's very disappointing that a year later this case still isn't ready for trial. It's hinky.

Answering my own question, yes he is. Shelby County, AL jail.

I didn’t even realize Calera was in 2 separate counties & I live very close by. Shelby County is definitely the larger county & most of Calera is in Shelby Co. The jail is several miles from Calera.

I’m mostly mentioning this bc there’s also an “unincorporated community” nearby called Shelby, AL. It can get confusing!
