So sad! I have a feeling that, living this close and knowing so many kids around the same age and people who are Auburn students/alum, this is going to hit close to home before long.

I missed the beginning of it, and the audio was real low. I don't think they revealed whether she spoke her killer's name beofre she died. No connection thus far with the other missing Auburn girl, or the girl shot in Chapel Hill, NC yesterday.

Police think they are closer to apprehending a perp, would not reveal whether or not they think Lauren was a targeted victim. Wow, the cop is really not spilling anything.

He did say that FBI is involved, simply because they have more resources. Don't know if there's something more to that, though, like them suspecting the killer fled the state. Asked for people in the parking lot where her car was found to call any and all info.

well, if they think the perp fled the state, then it would be fairly easy to tell if it was a student or not, if they aren't around, don't show up for class, etc.

I wonder if she had on a college sweatshirt or something, or a college parking sticker on her car, something like that, that's how the perp decided to take the car back to the college to burn (if it isn't somebody from the school, which I personally do think it is).

this is just horrible.

I think she knew who it was that shot her. The perp probably fled the state when the news reported she was alive when the police arrived. He may believe that she was able to tell the police who shot her. Could be the reason the FBI is involved.

I wonder if this is related to the case in NC where the co-ed was shot?

This is just so strange. Lauren got an odd call prior to her murder...something about delivering a textbook to someone on campus, but also going to a "party." Do you think it has something to do with drugs? I hate to say that, but I can't think of many other reasons why a college student would kill another student. I can't see that it was some love triangle, as she had a boyfriend who also apparently went to Auburn - sort of hard to pull that off when everyone is in proximity to one another.

Chapel Hill Police identified the victim of a shooting Tuesday near the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill campus as 22-year-old senior Eve Marie Carson, the student body president.
Police responding to a report of gunshots in a residential neighborhood in the college town early Tuesday found Carson's body lying in the intersection of Hillcrest Drive and Hillcrest Circle.
This is the second murder of a female college student on a southern U.S. campus in as many days. Lauren Burk was shot near Alabama's Auburn University campus on Tuesday night. Both Carson and Burk are Georgia natives, from towns about one hour apart.

This girl reminds of Jamie Lynn Siegler who played Meadow on the Sopranos...

That one photo does resemble Jamie Lynn Seigler. I hope that the police know who did this. She was alive when they reached her.

For some reason the stories have been updated and that info is not available but I did see it. It said in one that Eve's face was marred beyond recognition so that is why she was unidentified at first. It was only today that an ID was made available. It also said her upper torso was burned. I guess they are wanting to protect evidence at this point but it was out there.

Just a tidbit I heard today at work...Lauren Burk was found nude in the roadway except for socks and her coat which was wrapped around her. This came from someone in the ER where I work, where she died...

I hadn't heard this about the girl at Chapel Hill.
