Her common-law husband reported her missing. Authorities believe Pierce may have been the victim of a homicide. Few details are available in her case.

Cold Case Mystery: Mobile mother missing for 20 years

Jess Austyn and Starla Pierce only have photographs to remember their mother, Lisa Ann Pierce. The 27-year-old beautiful brunette, known for her bubbly personality, vanished on November 6, 2000. She was last seen at the corner of Government Boulevard and Pleasant Valley Road in Mobile. She was reported missing by her common-law husband.

Jess was turning five and Starla was two when their mother went missing. She loved her little girls but she could not care for them due to her personal problems. She placed them both up for adoption. Pierce was a drug addict but had a big heart.

“She was not just an addict. She was so much more than that,” Austyn told WKRG News 5.

There aren’t many clues but police believe she may have been killed. Detective Dorthea Long with Mobile Police took over the case a few years ago. She believes a crime was committed and that Pierce may one day be found through DN

There is very little information about this case, however on official FB page for Lisa Ann Pierce her daughter recently wrote some extra details which are quite important, link below.

Just to recoup - Lisa Ann was born in 1973 in Louisiana to alcoholic mother who worked at bar. At 5 years old she was adopted by couple who owned that bar and her name changed from Lisa Ann Humphrey to Lisa Ann Pierce. At some point her adoptive dad was dating woman by surname Knapp and Lisa used that surname as well.

At 13 Lisa gave birth to her first child and shortly after child was given up for adoption. It is not known when she moved to Alabama but it seems her life was troubled. She abused drugs, alcohol and was involved in prostitution. At the age of 21 she had another child which was given for adoption and last one at the age of 25, two years before her disappearance.

Around the time of her disappearance it seems she did not have steady place to live and moved around friends, family and shelter. She did have steady boyfriend who was drug user and known for domestic violence. She was reported missing around 3 weeks after her disappearance.

Why are they thinking homicide? I’m definitely not saying that it isn’t a possibility but they were saying that homicide phrase right away.. did the BF maybe say something made them think that? Lisa had such a rough life, she deserves justices and for her children to know what happened so they have closure. My heart goes out to Lisa

In my humble opinion - drugs, alcohol, prostitution, domestic violence - lots of huge red flags right there and all mix in one leads to lethal combination.

I rather hope though whoever got her pregnant at the age of 12 went to jail.
