I find it hard to believe one could wander around in the woods for that long, knowing how the sun moves. I explored all over the Boundry Waters in MN before the days of cell phones. Had a basic paper map, no compass and found my way around pretty efficiently. Granted I didn't have a potential medical condition that would confuse me and I'm also 42 yo (before relying on technology) ((does that make me sound old?)
ETA: all I mean by the old comment is I knew how to get around without technology. It wasn't efficient, but I knew my survival counted on it.
Snipped by me for focus. She is legally blind. I had not seen that info before today, but, IMO it explains how she could not easily find her way out of the woods.

AAAAAAANNNNNDDDD in the two days she has been "found", she has GAINED 10 POUNDS, according to the news!
BSBSBSBSBSBSBSBS
Ugh. I feel like a jerk for not believing this story to being with, and I'm sorry for joking about her looking like Ross after his bad spray tan.
Interesting timing of her rescue and the dropping of the court charges. And school starting up again.
In those pictures you can tell she's lost a ton of weight. In her pre disappearance pictures she looks like she has extra weight on her. Now you can see a very defined spine and bony legs. I do think there is more to the story but I also believe she was in the forest for quite some time. I also question why she was naked when found. Was somebody else involved or did she get into the pre stages of hypothermia and take her clothes of herself? Did someone hold her captive and then set her free threatening to hurt her or her family if she told?
I can't imagine it was cold enough to become hypothermic. The lows this time of year for that county are mid-70's.

Also someone mentioned above about her limited vision. I imagine without vision correction her eyesight is quite poor, but with her contacts I assume she sees fairly well. Why wouldn't she have her contacts in while lost in the woods? Although not wise, lots of people wear their contacts for far longer than recommended because they still work. In her situation I'd do everything possible to keep my contacts in.
It's just odd that they are mentioning her blindness now but it wasn't part of the story when she went missing. I feel like that is an important thing to mention and would have been covered at the same time the family said she had a medical condition.
"Could have" been drugged ("dad says he's "heard that") . Drank rain water out of her hair. Doesn't know why she was naked. Oh, and diabetic.

This article says the court dropped her charges because she was presumed dead? That doesn't even make sense. The court would assume she missed her court date because she was irresponsible, not because she was dead!
I don't think that is being reported correctly. The Order says it was nol pross'd on the state's motion, which I'm assuming was an oral motion during the hearing on 8/10 since there was no such motion filed. The charge was misdemeanor disorderly conduct so it wasn't any sort of serious crime and it isn't at all unusual for cases such as this to be nol pross'd after the state does some discovery and realizes they may not be able to make the charge stick. Obviously, the timing is suspect and if it really was dismissed because she was presumed dead would make it extremely suspect, but I really don't think that report is correct.
