How many people leave the indoor stage area to go to the outside stage area to have a smoke? Tin Roof Bar | Birmingham

lotta outdoor space involved in the Tin Roof's layout. Wonder if the large patio area has video surveillance. Difficult to tell from the pics: https://bit.ly/2QbbMZN

if it's like most bars, they only have cameras pointing at the entrances to the indoor part and covering the bars/registers. more about monitoring employees/catching theft than protecting customers, unfortunately.

the smoking crew's a good spot to strike up conversations with new people when you're out at a bar.

Not sure if smoking's allowed on drink serving patios in Alabama. Some states allow it, other states force smokers out into the back alley/completely off-premises to smoke. Or they might have separate smoking/non-smoking patio areas.

If the friend's information about PH leaving the Tin Roof with two heavy-set men is now being called into question, is there any reason to believe that she received a text at all? Has LE at least verified the text? It's quite odd that someone who was at a bar with live music at 10.30p was already home and asleep by 12.15a; and also that when she got home and saw PH's car still there that she didn't call immediately if only to say "get this car out of my driveway."
The story is getting murkier every minute.

Maybe the friend didn't go to her home that night? Went boyfriend's house or crashed somewhere else....

LE just turned up the heat in my opinion. 2 possibilities among many.
1. A possibility they cant find anyome in "THE GENERAL PUBLIC" b/c the only 2 black men in a very "white" bar, were police officers, that never left the bar until closing time, bc they work there? Blame the 2 black guys kind of thing...or

2. NOTHING I have read or heard leads me to believe other Friends saw her get into a car with 2 guys that never entered the bar buuut in news reports we saw where the friend told the family or LE that she/he saw the 2 guys from across the bar, right? (See #1?)

Actually, I believe only info from an Official PH Missing FB page with updates by the authorized family admin can be linked and the official updates posted here.

This does not include "closed fb groups" which consist mainly of comments and/or speculation by others that require admin correction of countless rumors.

This thread is probably close to a major clean-up for the same rumors that seemingly have grown legs.

Always best to confirm with a Mod before posting anything questionable from FB.

2. Did she text or call anyone else? She seems almost unusually close to her mother, possibly due to trying to stay accountable. Imo, most 29 year old women don’t text their mom when they get to work, when they take their break and when they leave. With that type of typical communication, did she attempt to reach her mother? Parents often tell their kids (even adult children) if you’re in trouble, call me.

I've read this on here several times, that she would check in with her mother several times a day, and just kind of "brushed it off" that it was just a "deal" between her and her mother.

BUT, as I read this today something struck me. I wonder if this was being done because she was being threatened in some way? Maybe an ex, maybe her former "dealer", or who knows. If she in some way "feared" for her life then I could see where she might check in with her mother several times a day.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Sergeant Johnny Williams with the Birmingham Police Department said investigators have reviewed surveillance video from a bar where Paighton Houston was last seen and have not found anyone matching the description of the two men she is believed to have left with.

Officers believe Houston willingly left the Tin Roof bar with two heavy set black men on Friday, December 20, based on information provided in the missing persons report.

Houston’s family said she was at the bar that night with friends from work. One of those friends contacted Houston’s family and told them she left the bar with the two men and appeared to do so willing, according to Houston’s brother, Evan.

The friend also shared a text message she said she received from Houston that said, “IDK who I am with so if I call please answer. I feel in trouble.”

B’ham Police: Surveillance video in Paighton Houston case does not show 2 men she reportedly left with

• Who did Paighton ride to Tin Roof with that night?
• Who reported seeing Paighton leave the bar with the two men?
• Who received the text message from Paighton that night?
• Is there any video of Paighton leaving the bar?

If the "friend" is also the one she rode to Tin Roof with, something is beginning to stink?

Edit to add: There was deep sarcasm intended in that 2nd possibility.
As you see I said 2 "POSSIBILITES" based on EVERYTHING i have seen there is NO evidence of the 2 men or any witness to her leaving with 2 men except in her friend's story. No video, no proof. The friend basically called family and said hey Paighton is missing here is what i can tell you. LE lead with that because it is what the family stated in the missing persons report, it is all they knew.
Unless there are other friends we are not aware of soeaking to LE, I dont believe there are 2 men, IMOO. I believe that is what LE is implying in their latest statement on MSM

My apologies for repeating the argument rumor.

Thus far it sounds like the only real info we have, is that she was at the bar with co workers. I have found it strange that none of the co workers have been interviewed, or come out to speak on the night she went missing.

Has it been verified that none of her co-workers had been interviewed?

What in the heck has LE been doing for the last 10 days?

Seriously -- I'm sure LE asked the friend for her phone as she was reportedly the last known person that had contact with PH as well as information from the carrier of PH's own phone. This all takes time especially as they've had no evidence of any crime and no probable cause for warrants issued. LE may have discovered the friend was not the last person PH communicated with and following up with others.

I seriously wish it would stop being brought up as though it were fact. It's just causing rumors to continue.

Perhaps an adult that wanted to disappear and make it look like something else. It wouldn't be the first time.

White it might mean that they have not been identified at all, I think what it means is that they have no publicly been identified. If LE knows their identity, but they have been cleared then there is no reason to throw their names out there to the sharks.

I've tried to skim the earliest and most recent posts so forgive me if this was discussed- has her phone been found? Or, any info released on where it pinged? I'm curious if 1) PH's text to the friend actually exists and 2) if it does, was it actually PH using her phone. JMO.

I know it is human nature to want answers but none of us have the slightest clue as to what is going on behind the scenes. Anyone in LE who has worked behind the scenes during investigations can tell you things are happening you wouldn't have the slightest idea happen or why. LE's last concern is taking time away from their investigation to persuade the public they are doing their job. There is an entire (and very thick) procedural manual for when or what should be released and why or why not. If danger out ways safety or it's determined prudent you will hear something. Until then I am glad they are showing such caution and believe they are working hard. The media stories can be misleading and cause the wrong the wrong impression.
