The 61-year-old woman, who was well-known for her smiling face at The Palace chinese restaurant, went missing in June and there are no new leads. Sung went for her daily walk through the Longmeadow subdivision in Trussville, where she lives with her sister, and never returned. On that Saturday morning, the St. Clair County sheriff’s office brought in tracking dogs at the request of the Trussville Police Department. The dogs were used to search the entire area with no luck.

Sung’s coworkers discovered she was missing when she failed to show up for her shift at The Palace on that Friday afternoon. Her neighbor, who also works at The Palace, called the restaurant to see if Sung had reported for her Friday shift, as she had not returned from her daily walk through the neighborhood.

The restaurant has offered a $5,000 reward to encourage people to bring in new information on her whereabouts.

3 years since disappearance of Trussville waitress

> IT’S VERY CRAZY. I MEAN, THERE’S NO ANSWERS. CHIP: SKYLER COPE IS 16 NOW, BUT SAYS HE’S KNOWN PEI YEN SUNG SINCE HE WAS A LITTLE BOY. MOST PEOPLE KNEW SUNG AS A WAITRESS AT THE PALACE RESTAURANT IN TRUSSVILLE, UNTIL SHE DISAPPEARED IN JUNE 2015. >> I USED TO LOVE TO COME IN HERE AND SEE HER. SHE WAS VERY FRIENDLY TO ME AND TO OTHERS. IT’S JUST SAD TO SEE THERE’S NO ANSWERS. CHIP: AUTHORITIES SAY SUNG WENT FOR A WALK IN THE LONGMEADOW SUBDIVISION IN TRUSSVILLE, SOMETHING SHE DID ON A DAILY BASIS, BUT NEVER RETURNED HOME. FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS SEARCHED THE AREA IN THE DAYS FOLLOWING HER DISAPPEARANCE, BUT CAME UP EMPTY-HANDED. A TOUGH TURN OF EVENTS FOR THE CLOSE-KNIT COMMUNITY. >> ALL THE TIMES I WAS IN HERE, I MEAN, YOU WOULD SEE, LIKE, DIFFERENT PEOPLE GO UP TO HERE -- GO UP TO HER AND JUST TALK TO HER, AND CARRY ON A GOOD CONVERSATION WITH HER. SHE WAS JUST A PEOPLE PERSON THAT EVERYONE LOVED TO BE AROUND. CHIP: THOSE WHO KNOW THE WAITRESS SAY THEY HOPE SOMEONE WILL COME FORWARD WITH THE CLUE POLICE NEED TO FIND HER. >> ANY LEADS, JUST ANYTHING. I MEAN, PEOPLE WANT ANSWERS. CHIP: IN THE MEANTIME, CUSTOMERS WILL HANG ON TO THE GOOD MEMORIES. I TALKED TO RESTAURANT MANAGEMENT OFF-CAMERA TONIGHT. THEY TOLD ME OUT OF RESPECT FOR SUNG’S FAMILY, THEY DID NOT WANT TO BE INTERVIEWED. I HAVE A MESSAGE IN TO TRUSSVILLE POLICE TO SEE WHERE THE INVESTIGATION STANDS NOW. JEFF?

It is believed that Sung went for her daily walk through the Longmeadow subdivision in Trussville, where she lives with her sister, and never returned. On that Saturday morning, the St. Clair County sheriff’s office brought in tracking dogs at the request of the Trussville Police Department. Bridges said the dogs were used to search the entire area with no luck.

Palace The Palace has an active sm site - i haven't yet had time to read back starting in 2015.

Thanks @Bamagirl7571 for starting this thread. Odd the tracking dogs found nothing coming from her home or on her walking route, though she was seen walking. Hmmmmmm

3 years since disappearance of Trussville waitress

I'm new here. Found this forum during the course of the Aniah Blanchard case. I grew up around Homewood, worked there, tho I am about 20 years older than Aniah. I'm also familiar with Trussville AL and I could not find a thread for this woman.
Welcome to WS!
I just merged it with the existing thread, but thanks for bringing some attention back on this case.

She lived in the subdivision of Longview, on Trussville-Clay Road across from the Trussville Civic Center. She left all her belongings behind at home except her house keys, and has never been heard from again.

An extensive search of the area turned up no sign of Sung. Her loved ones stated she isn't outgoing and not the kind of person to take risks, and one of her coworkers said she was behaving normally before her disappearance. Her case remains unsolved.
