Jury out until closing arguments, to begin Friday at 8:30 am

WilliamThornton @billineastala · 16m16 minutes ago

Judge Ogletree said the court still has legal matters to take up including charges for jury.

WilliamThornton @billineastala · 15m15 minutes ago

Defense again moved for acquittal, saying prosecution had not proven intent. Motion denied.

WilliamThornton @billineastala · 13m13 minutes ago

Reid in cross also asked Garrard if Jessica Hardin was afraid of her. She said she didn't know.

WilliamThornton @billineastala · 13m13 minutes ago

Wasn't it true that Jessica went in the house because she couldn't stand to see what Joyce was doing to Savannah? She said she didn't know.

What about an incident where Savannah supposedly looked to Jessica and Joyce said, "Don't look at her, she can't help you." She didn't know.

WilliamThornton @billineastala · 11m11 minutes ago

Just for recall - most of the witnesses say very little about seeing Jessica that day. But she made the 911 call, and talked to dispatcher.

Also, Reid revealed that Jessica gave birth to a boy when she delivered at the time of her arrest. I don't think anyone had said.

Did we ever find out if Savannah's dad attended this trial?

  • #448

Boy there is a lot that she doesn't know and/or can't recall!

I am worried that some on the jury just can't imagine a gm being so cruel. I hope seeing her on the stand gave the jury some insight into her character.

I've been following this case on twitter, and come here to read from time to time. Thanks y'all for posting the tweets.

Boy she was one pissed of grandma. As others have said, she ruled with an iron fist.

What do you all think? Is this case a death penalty case?

I'm leaning toward not. The reason I say this, I really don't think there was intent to cause her death, just an intent to discipline Savannah to never do this again, and Savannah died. Grandma knew that Savannah had medical issues, and for this reason alone, I think she should pay with Life in prison.

Give me a bit and I'll send him a tweet. He didn't answer my first one. Maybe it's too much to say in 240 characters or less lol.

He is posting again, about the jury considering lesser charges as well... I won't jump on the tweets tho, wait for y'all to do it.

hi lyric......good to see you join in!:seeya:

i personally agree with you on this case........i think i would vote for LWOP......not that i'm against the DP at all, i just don't see that it's warranted here from what i've heard thru the grapevine as it were..........but i definitely think LWOP, no doubt! what a horrible woman and that poor child paid the ultimate price :rose:

now if for some reason they DO give her the DP, i shall be most anxious to know what sent them in that direction, what did i miss being on the outside looking in via tweet?

well now that the jury knows that jessica hardin had a little boy since her arrest and that she and savannah's daddy already had another child at home when this happened....

let's say they convict her on a lesser charge and she does her piddly time and gets OUT.........

is her son gonna welcome her home to help care for his two surviving little ones????? something to think about............c'mon jury.......don't let savannah down :(

~Lyric~, I don't think it is a DP case either. LWOP or LWP after 25 years would be ok by me. The reason I say that is that she is 49 years old and would be in her seventies before possibility of parole. She doesn't appear to be physically fit and claims to have a heart condition.... heck she may croak in prison or picking up trash on an AL highway before she is paroled. And yes, she knew Savannah had medical issues, even more damning evidence against her. That's one of the things that infuriates me the most!

I haven't heard anything about Savannah's Dad (or biological Mom for that matter) being at the trial, FinallyRegistered. WT has tweeted that family members are in attendance, though.

I would go with LWP too. I am a few years older then this woman, and I can still hear my grandma say or even my parents, go get me a switch. My family is from the south as well. They believed in spankings, or if you took what did not belong to you, you had to go and face the music and then a spanking and LOL read from the Good Book as well, memorize and then recite.
However, the discipline was not as intense. This woman, needs not to be around any child and if truth be told ( my truth) I think this woman, all she could see was this childs mama and thinking, you will not be her. Even tho, we, still don't have all the truths of mama and her dear son.
