I would go with LWP too. I am a few years older then this woman, and I can still hear my grandma say or even my parents, go get me a switch. My family is from the south as well. They believed in spankings, or if you took what did not belong to you, you had to go and face the music and then a spanking and LOL read from the Good Book as well, memorize and then recite.
However, the discipline was not as intense. This woman, needs not to be around any child and if truth be told ( my truth) I think this woman, all she could see was this childs mama and thinking, you will not be her. Even tho, we, still don't have all the truths of mama and her dear son.

I actually don't have a problem with proper spankings.. But in this case this child was tortured to death. So For me this is LWOP. She should never be around children again.

I would be comfortable with LWOP. I am unsure on DP because even though this hateful, horrible woman did to punkin, I am a little unsure on whether the intent, malice or awareness of the consequence of her actions was that Savannah would die. Doesn't make this woman or those who sanctioned this behavior any less culpible. Just being honest about where I am landing on this case.

I feel the same way. LWOP for me. Without watching the trial in person, that's how I feel.

My initial thought was life without, if with, well I would hope she would have to spend at least 25 years she had to serve every single day of the sentence. I don't want any time off for good behavior, or sympathy let out, because she is sick. She didn't have any sympathy for Savannah. Just what else has been said here. I don't know exactly what has been said in court, cept the few tweets we get.

No tweet answer yet. Sigh. I don't think I'm doing it wrong. I'm tweeting him. I'm sure he has a lot of people doing that though.

I'll try again tomorrow. I'm sorry guys :(

The article that I just posted has tears rolling down my face. Why why why couldn't her Mom have custody???? Savannah and her Mommy look just alike. Beautiful. If what that article says is true, I'm not liking dad very much AT ALL. I think his killer mother coached him to say all of those horrible things about Heather (the bio mom).Savannah loved the color blue and horses.I hope killer gramma rots in prison.

Savannah's biological Mother speaks! Grab the tissues! Adorable pictures of Savannah and she looks like her Mom. I'm back to DP after reading this! Whoever said upthread (paintr?) that JG saw 'that woman' in Savannah was correct IMO. I have no words right now. Gotta reread to absorb the shock of this story but sounds like Robert Hardin has losts of $$$$ from his overseas contracting biz to spend on lawyers. That poor little girl never stood a chance....

Shelby, thank goodness you are here. I dislike bawling all alone.

Oh good, I'm glad you are here too! Yesterday I was firmly LWOP....not so much after reading that. I could easily vote DP. I wish the dad could be held accountable, too. He had a lot to do with this.

Ack, my computer won't let me edit my post.

I also want to say that I wish the jurors could read that article. I don't think they will vote for the DP...but they would after knowing what we know now.

  • #478
Yes he did. How dare he just up a move away without telling the mother of his child! Lawyers don't come cheap, he had the money for one and Heather didn't.
Makes me wonder if he is financing JG's defense and will do the same for JH. She bragged about how she didn't pay attn because she had lawyers to do that.

This just breaks my heart and makes me so angry!

Well I assume the jurors were admonished by Judge Ogletree to stay away from news and SM. However, tongues will wag and the jurors will certainly hear things through the grapevine before Monday. The grocery store, Wally world, post office, mall etc. Gadsden is a small town and Attalla is even smaller. JMO

I don't think I'll be reading that, after what people have been saying here.
