Since she has made this trip 4 times before, I wonder if there were road detours that got her lost. Also, they state the car window was broken out, so the glass was on the outside of the car? Was the car wedged between trees that she couldn't open the door? Sick feeling with this one. IMO

I was just wondering about that too. Was there glass in the mud where the car was found? Did they look in areas where her phone pinged for broken glass? I believe they are just using cell phone records and don't actually have her phone. Just my hunch, but I feel she did meet with foul play. I wonder why she hasn't been entered into NAMUS. They sure didn't search very long. I really think they need to re-review those cameras at the truck stop.

This article is a little more recent. Among new details included is that all of Shari's possessions are missing including luggage, tablet, cell phone, snacks and beer(?). Also, Shari typically called her brother-in-law when she exited the interstate at Evergreen which is where she stopped for gas but the call never came that night so nobody went to meet her. The niece identified the meeting location as the Minute Stop which according to my searches is the Shell station at the intersection of highway 21 and 84.

The article also mentions that the car was stuck in the mud and that the window that was broken is the front passenger side. Hopefully the FBI in Mobile will be able to identify fingerprints, hair, something while they process the vehicle.

Anything is possible. LE is keeping information close to the vest so we don't know if they have checked out her sister and brother-in-laws house or their whereabouts that night/morning. We don't know if they have checked for cameras at the Minute Stop to see if she made it to the rendezvous spot either.

Where is this poor lady?? I live not too far from where she went missing. It's odd her car was several miles down a hunting road. Did she get lost?? I feel like authorities spent almost no time looking for her.

That location is roughly 40 miles from the spot near I-65 in Escambia County, Alabama, where authorities found Shari Saunders' red 2010 Toyota Corolla in August. At this time, authorities haven't identified the person's identity.

I didn’t read the article yet, but 40 miles away in another state isn’t really that close, is there another reason they are connecting it to her? And her car being 40 miles away... if it is her she most likely didn’t get there on her own.

I followed the family member posting for help in finding her aunt Shari, until she got defensive and argumentative with the questions being asked. Hoping for closure and answers.

MFH, remember the car was located 20 miles south from her last sighting and about 17 miles south (as the crow flies) from her typical rendezvous point with family. LE stated that all of her personal belonging like luggage, cell phone, etc. were not found in her car. I'm not sure what that indicates.

Thats crazy. Completely eliminates my main theory, which was that she got stuck in the mud then lost looking for help. Nope. All her stuff gone? Then either she made it to a destination or got into another vehicle. I highly doubt this woman would've gotten in a car with someone she didn't know so where does that leave us?

I have to agree that with her personal stuff missing either:

She made it to her destination, dropped of her stuff then something happened to her and the car was hidden.
OR
For some unknown reason, she got into a strangers car willingly, hence taking the time to transfer her personal stuff to a second vehicle, then something happened to her and later the car was disposed of.

I don't think if someone is kidnapping a woman they would take the time to remove all her personal belongings.

Do we know if the car had been vandalized prior to being found? I didn't not see any mention.

The circumstances or at least the circumstances that are being made public don't give a clear picture at all. Shari's last spotting at the gas station just off the interstate showed she was alone and nobody entered her car. I don't recall seeing it reported that she turned to the east or west when she pulled out of the station but she should have turned to the west (left). The family in Ollie says Shari didn't call ahead to let them know she was close as she had done in the past so they didn't meet her at the rendezvous point at the gas station at the intersection of 84 and 21. So why would her belongings be removed from her car?

The car was found with the front passenger side window broken but we don't know if it was broken in or out. If it was a robbery or car theft why was the car left in such a remote area? Again, why take the time to remove all of her belongings instead of just grabbing valuables like her tablet, phone, cash, credit cards if it was a robbery?

It is also curious that she wasn't calling every x miles (I forget the spacing but family reported she frequently called with updates as to location when making this trip) and didn't call the family in Ollie for rendezvous and escort to house as she had done before as well. Was a mental defect like Alzheimer's or another type of dementia impairing her judgment or memory?

I also question the quick decision to call off the search for Shari. To me this indicates that LE knows more about the situation and is holding that back for evidence or such.

Of course this is all just my opinion.
