The DA’s Office was awarded the maximum amount of $500,000, plus an additional $33,320 to be used over a three-year period. The grant is being used to fund a part-time cold case investigator and to pay for private DNA testing with Othram, a lab based in The Woodlands, Texas.
One of those cases, a DA spokesperson confirmed to 11Alive this week, is that of 35-year-old Tiwuan Johnson.
Tiwuan, a husband and father of two, was shot and killed at a gas station on N. Hairston Rd in Stone Mountain in February 2020.''
