Details of Disappearance
Grimes was last seen fishing in Monterey County, California on December 14, 1968. He was accompanied by his friend, Sammy Jackson, at the time. Neither of the boys has been heard from again. While the circumstances surrounding their disappearances are unknown, it is believed that both Grimes and Jackson drowned.
