All Casey Cell Phone LOGS and PINGS Part#2

My brain gets overloaded too. I would think from AF's house (C) would be the ping at this tower (B) which was at 2:25 a.m.

At 4:24 she pinged tower (A) which is much farther south. Now, perhaps she left AF's house and went farther south to catch highway 528 on her way home. It just seems a little out of the way from there. That's the strangeness we were referring to with tower ping (A).

I thought the same way you are thinking when I first started looking at the different ping locations and someone on the board said that different towers can take over depending on cell traffic and other situations......I don't know a darned thing about how they work. But evidently they overlap quite a bit when picking up transmissions.

Yes they definitely can overlap but most usually when there is heavy cell traffic and the phone can't ping off the closest tower I think. We were all thinking at that time of the morning cell activitiy would be very light and the pings should be pretty accurate to her physical location perhaps.

That's not to say it's absolutely the case though.

Ok here is the link, the yellow cell tower photo things are the unusual area pings from 6-30 late pm, until 7-1 early am.

I only recorded the not her normal area pings.

The red push pins are cell towers she could have pinged based on whatever her location was.

That's the way I'm looking at it. Not that I think at 4:24am there is a lot of cell traffic in the area, but there is a correctional facility and what seems to be a nuclear power plant near the one tower, so it is possible for off-peak calls to be crowding those towers, and for calls to get bumped from tower to twoer.

Now I believe that no stone should be left unturned, so even if we have a working theory on why this tower was "pinged" I still think it's important to think about other possibilities.

Yes it is suppose to be based on cell traffic, which tower you ping off of, however, taking into account the locations of the towers, not to mention the numerous towers there are, and I am pretty confident these tower pings are pretty accurate.

That might be the case.....I thought about the early am hr too. Who knows. I hope LE has experts better at this stuff than we are. I know in the Laci case LE seemed to know exactly where Scott was due to pings.

I'm kinda thinkin like Lil - even if somehow these pings are related to AF - it seems that closest southern tower would have pinged - unless she actually drove further south, nearer Beachline - in order to ping that tower.

It doesn't seem from the map like there was any practical way to get from AF address further south - past the closest southern tower - closer to Beachline. No good looking linking roads. Much easier to just hop on Alafaya and head NE into town.

She must have driven down there near Beachline.

We only have the pings associated with actual calls right? Could there be another list of pings just from her moving around? IIRC the cell phone pings the tower even when you aren't calling or receiving calls. Is this correct???

There may also be differences in towers. The one on Beachline seems to be a much bigger tower. The other one (Alafaya Trail) seems to be much smaller. Perhaps the smaller one powers down at certain hours, or just isn't capable of taking that many calls.

There are many intricacies to these towers, I'm sure, and I'm certain that LE has people who know a lot more about them.

There are about 13 towers, in that area that her phone could have pinged based on the area, but it pinged the towers on my map....link posted above.

It pinged the left yellow one first then pinged the right yellow one, then finally pinged the bottom yellow one. If you look right above the left yellow one, there is a clearing road power line area all the way through to the area of the other tower.

My theory is either she went out int he clearing in a vehicle far enough to ping the tower to the east and then turned around and headed south pinging the tower to the south........or

She went all the way through the clearing, and that is why they pinged that way.

If you're talking about traveling West to East, then it is possible she used the service road that goes along those power lines. She would come out onto Newburg Street right near the Eastern Tower, and then take Dallas Blvd. south to the Beachline and then hit the other tower.

ETA: Thanks to the "bird's eye" view, I could take a closer look at this path. It is fairly difficult terrain and she'd encounter quite a few security fences, but by no means would it be impossible to drive along such a service road, especially if she was driving a 4-wheel drive vehicle (didn't she have AL's on 7/1?).

Has anyone been able to link up Casey's text messages with her lat/long pings? I am pretty sure we had a document dump which listed her call detail with the cell sites and pings (in the jury room). I'm also pretty sure we had a document dump with her text messages, right (in the jury room)? My question is has anyone linked/merged these two documents together to know when she was sending each message (with the content of each message) exactly where she was located? Paraphrased Example: When she sends Amy a message about the squirrel mess plastered on the front of the Sunfire do we know exactly within an X mile radius where she was located?

Also, has anyone been able to put the text messages in an Excel spreadsheet so that they can all be sorted by number, then by time, etc? It is beyond annoying that they are out of order regarding time and day. I would like to be able to sort the phone number/person, day, time of day, and add columns, etc. I guess beggars cannot be choosers, eh?

This allows you to type in an address and it will show you all cell towers and antennas in an area that you could ping off of. Have to weed through as they are all cell towers and antenna's not just AT&T.

Quiet Storm has been working on this. She has it in a word doc. so far and the messages are in order now. Not sure if she's posted it anywhere yet.

I don't post often but read everything and have seen nothing mentioned about the forth person listed at AF address with a different phone number. Check out above posted by secreteye. The person name is Terry K. I found a TK listed in Orlando as a Program Developer. Could this person be the owner of the mysterious phone number?

Someone who knows how to check this please do. Maybe her contact wasn't AF but TK.
