All things Prince William & Kate Middleton

I feel what happened is a shame and an invasion of privacy.

I wish Kate and William every happiness. They deserve it.

Maybe because as humans, we like to see any young couple in love do well and be happy in life.

But why do they deserve it? That is the question.

What human being doesn't deserve happiness? It's not like either one of them has done anything NOT to deserve it.

They show quailities that make them worthy of happiness...therefore, by definition, they deserve it.

Still...it would be nice to be able to go topless, in private locations, and not be photograghed without permission.

Hard to spend another minute on it tho...she's probably eating fresh-caught dove and tiny baby carrots flown in from some other country...and has an unlimited shopping budget...

I'm not sure why "we" worry about the dilemnas of celebrities and royalty...other than basic human compassion...

Frankly, most celebrities bug me. They act "entitled". But this bothers me. In fact, the paparazzi in general, are obscene and reckless.

They chase people in cars, up to speeds of 125 miles per hour. If the targets don't try to get away, they are hounded so intensely with flashing cameras blocking their movements, they can only edge forward ever so slowly. Their kids, who never asked to be celebrities, are hounded with constant gawkers, flashing lights and screaming out their names, every time they set foot outside their homes.

I understand wanting to get photos of celebrities. That's okay. But we have totally done away with human decency. As long as a person can make a buck from it, it's okay, these days.

I think these paparazzo are stalkers and there should be laws restricting what they can do. Some of this goes too far.

That being said, until we have such laws, celebrities like Princess Kate should assume they are always being watched and be extra cautious in certain situations.

I wonder if they were tipped off by a member of the household? I would not have spent time watching the balcony in expectation of seeing someone nekkid. Regardless of someone's financial status be it destitute or filthy rich, they have a right to privacy.

These guys make so much money stalking celebrities. It's their job. They track them and then stake them out for hours, if not days.

I am no prude!

But I cannot remember ever once being tempted to sunbathe topless.

At the end of the day she is now Royal and has a duty to keep herself tidy. On the whole she does this very, very well but she still shouldn't sunbathe topless unless she's in a courtyard or very securely away from camera shot. The photographer was standing acres away on a public road. She was laid out for free consumption in one of the worlds biggest front yards, not a hedge or wall in sight.

What she did was of questionable intelligence at least, disrespectful of her new position in life at worst.

As has been rightly pointed out, Williams insistence on pressing criminal charges against the photographer smacks of priviledge and the return of fore-lock tugging. The girl shouldn't have got the girls out in the first place.

The photographer was only doing his job, unlike Kate and Williams minders who are well paid (by the taxpayer) to make sure things like this don't happen.

Where were they while the heir to the throne and his bride were sunbaking? Presumably a bullet could have hit them just as easily as a camera lens.

:banghead:

Way to blame the victim from some here. She should have expected it? She sleeps on 3000 thread sheets so it goes with the territory? She should keep her clothes on at all times even alone with her husband inside a private house in the middle of nowhere?

Wow, just wow.

I guess it depends on how much one wants to avoid having one's naked photographs published somewhere one doesn't want them to be.

I have to say that while I don't believe the pap have rights to tresspass or stalk to get stories or pictures....

Famous/popular people have to assume that they (the pap) are out there and then proceed not to do anything that they do not want in print or will regret if/when it comes out. Sunbathing topless was just asking for trouble... the pap have already caught good ol' Pippa that way so why would Kate assume she could get away with it?

The pap are out there... they are watching... waiting... and *SNAP* they got the pics.

It is not just famous people-she is the MOST famous person in the world right now, as far as the paparazzi is concerned. And she had the examples of Diana and Sarah Ferguson, among others, in much less sophisticated times, media-wise. Just because you can't see a camera doesn't mean it can't see you.

I agree that the photos should not be allowed to be printed (and never should have been.) But the fact remains, in the society we seemingly have created and now live in, she is TOO famous to go outdoors in any way, shape or form that she would not to see on film. And, IMO, she had to know this was always a possibility. In fact, no one should probably be out of doors in a such a way these days, unless they are open to be photographed, due to cell phone cameras. Privacy is pretty much a thing of the past.

My post was an attempt to put things in proper perspective (IMO of that, of course).

Celebrities and royalty don't have to worry about the next meal, getting their utilities shut off, nor becoming homeless due to a bad economy. That was my point.

An aside, there was much talk on several mainstream broadcasts that Kate (Cate?) should be glad that her 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬 were captured for longevity...before she gets older and breastfeeds (should she ever have children). These comments were said by mothers (names you would recognize as being in the public eye). LOL.

As I said before, I understand the invasion of privacy...but come on. Her problems are so tiny compared to the every day persons'. IMO.

I'm not insensitive....really. :)

The french magazien has been fined very little about £8K, and told not to publish them anymore. The amount is so little, that it is almost just an extra cost when publishing as they make so much more money from the extra copies they sell and the publicity. This ruling only applies to France and cna be appealed.

William also gets paid a lot more than the average search and rescue helicopter pilot (surgeon, nurse, police officer etc).

Just to give you an idea...

I don't consider that über private. I could get that shot with my camera & lens.

As IF the "paparazzi" would want pics of my under bathing suit skin! BUT just to re assure them... My "under suit skin" has NEVER seen sunlight (to my knowledge) and never will... ahhhh I feel so much better!

Yes she deserves "privacy"
Yes the "paparazzi" invaded it.

How could she have been 100% certain that no "under suit skin" pics would have been snapped?
keep her suit on?

IDK... I do feel bad for her but... if ya put it out there...
well there it is.
