I always assumed the burgundy Honda was being driven by OW at the time - on the day she dropped off GBC at the house, I seem to remember actual video footage of her driving it?

Note: I did say this could have been the car without number plates I noticed exiting the school car park in the week Allison went missing. Only because it is dark coloured and 'biggish'. But let's not forget that that would describe about half the cars in Brookfield.

Towards the end of this vid there's a shot of OW driving the burgundy Honda....I'm sure there are other vids of her driving it so I'll have a look later...

Also a vid of her driving a white car...

Minni, I don't think this is a captiva. I checked the styling on my captiva interior side doors and they are very different from the car in the photo.

Thanks Alioop

That's the thing isn't it grannie...we don't know for certain two 4WDs were involved...there's the reports of sightings of two cars at Anstead but we don't know if they were even involved in the case or not.

The fact that the prado was returned intrigues me - and perhaps it means it wasn't involved - but I do wonder why the police were so interested in both family cars from day one? This repeated interest in both cars, plus the release of info through the media of sightings of two cars and a possible accomplice, did make me think two were involved.

But perhaps they were just trying to eliminate the prado from suspicion by doing this? :dunno: (btw, this is my favorite emoticon, so cute and apt for my feelings re this case the majority of the time!)

I agree, no reason to remove any seats. I have no idea if they are easy to remove.

Seats are easy to fold down....but a 'B#$%^&d to remove....and even more difficult to put back...That would take to much time.
We fold seats down to transport paintings....and once removed them for that purpose....We sold the car rather than try to re bolt seats back....A
S#$%' of a JOB.:fence::rocker::what:

Great thought littlethings - what would be telling is if the neighbours were up in the night and saw lights on at the house in the early hours of the morning for a while,
or
if when Police arrived, the drive was wet from washing cars and there was a smell of cleaning fluids in house/cars (as has been mentioned before).MOO

Mani, I have always been of the opinion that the driveway may be wet due to pooling of water after washing down the cars.

Your post made me think about something else. Childcare centres open at either 6.00am or 6.30am. You would think therefore that there would be workers (at least one or two) at the centre prior to opening as I know that some mums need to be at work by 7am, and when I was a chef at a daycare centre, I would go in early and get cooking and there was two mums who were often there waiting to be let in.

So it stands to reason if there was activity outside the house in the early hours, someone may have witnessed it, washing cars, opening and shutting of doors or cars coming and going.

It also just occurred to me that the girls would be up by this time and he most likely would have tried to get everything done before they woke up, EXCEPT washing the car. That would have to wait until daylight. :cow:

yep, I can see the road sign 'baby on board' type sign hanging in the same window. Thanks

I cannot see that clearly so to me it could be a reflection from a car seat cover or maybe even a wind chime or sun catcher hanging in the carport.

ignore that, I just saw a photo with car door open, so clearly it is in the car.

Here's a question for you all. Can electricity and water meters be read at specific times? For instance if GBC went to bed at 10 and slept like a baby there would be no significant changes to the usage of electricity and water. But if you were up hosing, cleaning, showering etc you would be using water and electricity and the meters would be ticking over. Can the water and electricity companies get an exact reading of the usage of electricity and water for those specific hours on that specific night? I really hope they can. Cheers to you all.

Yes littlethings, agree with you and like others have said great thinking!
I was thinking about this also the other day but did some research and did not come up with any answers really, was just more frustrating, I'll post what I found. Having said that my friends think I'm nuts asking them how much power they think charging an iPhone takes on it's own, etc. didn't want to explain to them why, they know I don't have one which made it more interesting. I was trying to add up the power different electrical items would use in a house at night when everyone is asleep. I think iPhones take 7W to fully charge, I stand corrected if I'm wrong. There are new meters being rolled out but only in certain networks I think?

http://www.energyaustralia.com.au/ns..._home/metering

Traditional mechanical electricity meters are only able to measure total electricity usage. With PowerSmart Home your electricity is measured using a meter that records how much electricity is used in 30 minute intervals, which means your electricity rates are different at different times of the day.
Meters that support PowerSmart Home are now installed in EngeryAustralia’s network area when a customer requires a new meter, such as in new homes or where the electrical installation is being upgraded.

Here's a website which is a bit outdated 2010, but I found interesting, though having said that I don't think I'd want to live with him. :floorlaugh:

http://michaelbluejay.com/electricity/howmuch.html

I got a headache though still found it fascinating trying to figure out how much power would be used in a household overnight with some items running at and/or on standby etc., fridge, laptop, tv (on standby if everyone is sleeping that is), clock radio, pc,freezer, ethernet switch and another couple of bits and pieces shouldn't really add up to more than about 20W overnight on off peak consumption rates? Lots of questions that's for sure.

Just reading some old reports, and found this one quoting OW.
"I spoke to her the night before she disappeared on Thursday night and she seemed fine," she said.
It really got me wondering! What was this call about? Did she call to speak to Allison specifically or to GBC? Did something said during this call trigger conflict that night? It would have to have been after Allison returned from the hairdressers, (as she says Thursday night) so say 6.45pm onwards? This may mean that she was the last person (besides GBC) that spoke to Allison, if, in fact she actually did? As she also says she saw Allison the week before, I assume that OW was in Brisbane since the week before the 19th?

Justamum...its very confusing I agree. I thought she meant that she spoke to Allison by phone at first. However, last week someone here on this forum informed me that Olivia was in Brisbane from the 15th of April, due to the other brother had a baby (I dont see why she flew to Brisbane when the other brother is in canada, but anyway).

I was asking a lot of questions about why she was in brissy, when she ahd a family to take care of up in Townsville. and was told that (cant remember who sorry, but maybe Squizzey ( i keep thinking it was a male that said it)

So now I think that when she says she talked to her, maybe she actually spoke face to face?

I mean if she was in Brisbane from the 15th, it would be damned odd to not see her seeing as they are "such close friends"

It very much sounds like Allison suffered in silence and her family must feel so guilty that they didn't do more to help her but they just didn't know the reality.

I think this is a terrible thing to say, Im sorry.

We dont know whether she was abused. ( I should add here that I do believe that she was abused, but its still not fact)

If she was, we don't know if she told her parents.

If she told her parents, they cant make her do what they want, they are not in control of her decisions anymore.

WE DONT KNOW THE REALITY.

We dont know how much her family knew

Geoff and Priscilla Dickie were not responsible for what happened to her.

Where was this Honda, on that Thu evening , Fri morning ? The night poor Allison disappeared?
I wonder if the police know where it was all night?

It looks like OW in the mirror. She appears to be on the phone.
IMO[/QUOTE]

Once again I see nothing, and others see something.

Thank you Minni,
The only thing that makes me think it was a phone call is that she's says
she spoke to her on the Thursday night and then goes on to say that she saw her the week before. But if it was face to face, do you think she was over at Allison's house on the Thursday night?

yes, I would say 'spoke' if it was over the phone, and 'saw' if it was face to face too. But if Olivia was in town for 4 days, why not catch up? especially if they were friends, especially if Allisons children were regularly at the seniors house.

Also I think the words she uses indicate that she spoke to Allison on WEDNESDAY night.

But to answer your question, I would not be surprised to hear that OW was at the house during the night that Allison was murdered, maybe to watch the kids. MOO

:truce:

Hi Minni, I don't think Alioop meant for a moment to imply that the Dickies were responsible for what happened to Allison. I think I get where she was coming from. Let me give you an analogy and I do this in no sense out of any kind of animosity towards you.

My brother (as I have mentioned before) comitted suicide. I could not possibly have known all the reality of his life - we lived on opposite sides of the country.

Nevertheless, when he took his own life, I felt, and still do, guilty that I had not known his reality and not been able to do something to stop him taking that action (however irrational and illogical that may be of me).

I think this is the kind of guilt to which Alioop was referring, a guilt that is not the logical result of true responsiblity, but nevertheless can gnaw away at those left behind in all sorts of situations of family tragedy.
