I agree that it's publicity for Suncorp, but are you sayong GBC gets money for it to pay his lawyers? That's a bit of a stretch!

Yes possibly a massive stretch but nothing would surprise me! Possibly he said if you get me outta here I'll get the payout and pay you from that and then sue from wrongful whatever. The sale of the house surprised me, I think that was his intentions with that, maybe I'm starting to think like him?

I guess if Suncorp have paid out and the funds are held by the court instead of ABC's estate they would not be dragged into any potential future civil action and possibly incur legal expenses on top of the cost if the claim. If I were the insurer, it would seem good business sense.

I have asked a couple of people who know about insurance and have been told that it is possible that there will be no pay out to anyone . Sad but true .

That would be a shame for her children.

That is truly tragic

Why would that be?

I've never heard of any insurance claims not being paid.

Money can sometimes be transferred to the Unclaimed Monies if a Death Certificate is received and no further info/claim paperwork is received... but generally never heard of money never being paid out, especially when there are dependants (eg. Allison's daughters)

The only occasion of non payment that I have heard of is when there is no body eg lost at sea

On what grounds?

Whilst I don't understand the need for Suncorp to apply to the court as they can pay it to Allison's estate as I have already mentioned, it doesn't seem there is any issue about whether the insurance will be paid out or not, just as to where it is paid.
I hope the other insurances and super have already been paid to the estate. As interim administrator Mr Dickie is able to use estate monies for legal fees and other estate administration expenses. Given the possible complexities of Allison's estate he needs access to estate funds to sort it all out rather than be using his own monies to do his job as interim administrator.

Nice thought Ali, that fundamental invoicing must be covered for justice to be done....

And off topic again...I believe Alan Jones was a big supporter of Andrew Kalajzich's innocence.

I grew up in Manly (my Father's wake was at The Manly Pacific which was owned by Kalajzich at the time) and we had friends who were very close to his kids. The children never believed he was guilty.
It was huge news at the time. He owned a lot of real estate in the area.

The empire building and percieved womanising rang a few bells. I think I am just freaking myself out. Thanks IM.

I thought he was guilty as hell!

He was found guilty as hell too, but still protests his innocence since release from jail.
