I just home. Phone battery died.
I left when the judge left the court to ponder the submissions. I don't think he will grant bail. There were no new circumstances just a suicide theory which the judge kept poking holes in and the issues of flight risk and interference with witnesses have not changed. The prosecution still has a strong case for murder.

Welcome back Ali. Did you get a good look at OW? I'm curious to know if she was fidgeting or squirming in her seat.

Mr Baden-Clay was not in court, but his sister, Olivia Walton, was.

Ms Walton sat at the front of the public gallery, surrounded by supporters.

In stark contrast to her demeanour in June, when her brother first applied for bail, Ms Walton appeared relaxed, smiling and talking with her friends ahead of the hearing.

But when Justice Applegarth entered the room and the court was called to order, she sat stony faced and appeared to be listening intently while her friends took notes on the evidence both the defence and prosecution were submitting.

Thank you Alioop for your updates as we all wait and hope with baited breath that bail will not be granted. I am absolutely at the suggestion of suicide, and I am very upset for the children, the Dickie and Allison's brother and sister's families. It is a disgrace to even contemplate this scenario, however the defence is grasping at straws and element of doubt is always the name of the game. This is just a prelude to what rubbish is going to be suggested at committal. There will be no barriers and everything will be done by the defence to impugn and denigrate Allison's very existence, all in the name of introducing sufficient doubt to get this alleged killer off the hook. MOO

Wow - he can talk. So maybe the adjournment reported by the media was jumping the gun? Or is the report you quoted perhaps a bit delayed?

I think they meant court was adjourned for the Judge to go to chambers to make a decision. Judge is now in court chatting away with the eager listeners.
