Allison Baden-Clay - GENERAL DISCUSSION THREAD #48

I'd suggest waiting until the trial when there'll no doubt be a whole lot more evidence presented.

All we've seen to date have been affidavits for...1. bail application & 2. Committal hearing (which decides if there's sufficient evidence to send the accused to trial....which there was)

The trial is expected to run for around four weeks with 200 or so witnesses to be called. In my opinion...a whole lot more evidence still to come!

It will be so interesting to hear from the witnesses, although I don't envy them having to recall things in detail from over two years ago. I know I'm already sketchy on some of the details that were so clear to me in the short time after Allison died.

The witnesses I'm most looking forward to, and will try to attend court for, are:

1. Mr and Mrs Mason from Anstead who heard noises on the Thursday evening and saw two cars traveling slowly together on Mt Crosby Rd in the early hours of the Friday morning (Mrs M saw the cars)

2. Any of the BC family/Nigelaine/Olivia - would love to see them on the stand (surely they will be called?)

3. TM - although I saw her intriguing performance at the committal, I would like even more to see her under cross examination at trial - as the more I think about her answers at the committal, the more I realise there is a lot more to this person's involvement and/or knowledge of what actually happened to Allison

4. Anyone who made a statement about what they saw at the roundabout that night?! I wonder about this every time I drive through that roundabout (which is a lot)!

My youngest turns 5 on the 18th of June and hoping GBC has been found guilty by then or at least the catapillers. Then by july 2nd my middle child will be 6. And by then im hoping for sentencing for atleast 25 years for both GBC and Childers Abductor with no parole. Never to be released!

This is a fascinating case where the murderer's ex became star witness for the prosecution and was granted immunity in the US:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...s-wedding-claim-1-million-life-insurance.html

Does anyone know much about other evidence presented against the husband and whether it was mainly circumstantial? I guess it is fairly compelling that the wife had so much drugs in her system there is no way she could gave dropped him home as he alleged. A few parallels here, a terrible, sad and upsetting case.

Sadly, here is another one:
http://www.news.com.au/

'Schemer' killed wife to collect $1million Life Insurance Policy
... It's taken 12 years, but her 42-year-old husband has finally been found guilty of her murder...
A Jury has found Michel Escoto guilty of killing her so he could collect her $US1 million life insurance policy...
Escoto’s ex girlfriend, Yolanda Cerillo, who testified in exchange for immunity from prosecution that she was at the crime scene where Trapaga was killed and helped plot her murder...

So sad that our beautiful young girls are beguiled by these sociopaths on the fantasy of 'marriage'. May be we should be teaching our young women that 'marriage' is a serious contract involving their life. This sociopath managed to get this beautiful young girl into the promise of 'marriage' with a hidden 'plan' to take financial advantage of her life/death under The Law.

And lovin' every split second.
Oh I dont know about that TGY! If it was up to me, I'd have had this matter dealt with in ASAP: about April 2012. Hmmm... Good job I'm not in charge.
Of course the case would have been absent of its full evidences.
Over the course of two years or so, a fair bit of peripheral stuff has come to light.
The nature of this "business man" has been exposed. Including his Modus Operandi.
The nature of his adulterous lifestyle has been exposed.
The manner in which he treated his wife has been exposed. (Well some has)
He has been exposed as a Liar.
Another characteristic has also become evident; that is his lack of emotion or anything at all for that matter towards Allison.
His goal appears to be "To avoid jail, to avoid prosecution. To get away free. And to get the Insurance money."
Thus far, we have come to know a Liar, Cheat, Fraudster and a Con Artist.
This fellow was unemployed, and his wife secured employment for him. Staff at Flight Centre have spoken highly of Allison. But not one word in his praise.
Still waiting for someone to come forward elaborating some good qualities.
I was thinking about Judge Lucy McCallum and Simon Gittany.
SG and Co., thought they could outsmart the Law and justice. It appeared like a fun run for them.
Judge Lucy saw right though the whole charade.

In addition to above thoughts; I am unable to get my head around the fact that neither he nor his family ever helped in the search for Allison.
Not even a cup of tea or a glass of water for those who were searching. No manning the base station. No comforting words to Allison's parents. No getting his own shoes dirty.
Not a single solitary effort. Nothing. Nothing at all.

Because he obviously knew where Allison was. He'd already gotten his hands dirty so to speak, along with a scratched face and body for his efforts. I'm just pleased that Allison wasn't a nail biter.

Today Tonight Adelaide go inside the minds of men who kill those closest to them. Hopefully there will be a link once its aired for those not in Adelaide.

Tonight... Murdered by the one she loved but she didn't know he had history. We go inside the minds of the men who kill those closest to them and question how this epidemic can be stopped.

Thinking....I'm with you on these events.
Along with forensic evidence, info and answers relating to the said Roundabout and the main 'Players' could reveal outright lies ....when focusing on important aspects of 'truths' and whereabouts during the hours in question.

Waiting for Justice for Allison is not for the impatient.

GBC's is sitting right where he should be (allegedly).
Picturing that environment helps with my impatience.

Just over 5 weeks away guys!

I'm wondering if people's memories are sharp, it'd be a shame if they were useless as a witness if they admit they forget.

:drumroll:

I think if you look back at Daniel Morcombe case, some of the witnesses at the trial had memories as sharp as a tack even after 10 plus years.

After Justice McCallum's comments will Olivia create another sideshow outside the court?

'Ms Louise led a bizarre protest outside the court......(Justice Lucy McCallum) said Gittany had shown no remorse and that there was no prospect of rehabilitation'.

Observing Olivia's 'performance'/'taking on' the Court procedure (at the Committal), and displaying her belief in her 'right to use the forum' to communicate with her brother because she somehow believes in his innocence (interesting how she can be so sure!) ..... makes me think that she will be continuing to expound her belief in any way possible! She certainly wouldn't be counting on being left with 'egg on her face'. HOW CAN YOU BE SO SURE OLIVIA? Why haven't you provided this evidence already? So, so hard for you to believe otherwise ...... we know that!

I'll post this in the Milat thread but thought I'd post it in here as well.

Today on ABC radio's Richard Fidler's conversations program, he spoke with former police detective Clive Small who led the investigation into the backpacker murders & they discuss quite a bit about Clive's new book, Milat: Inside Australia's Biggest Manhunt.

Clive mentioned the majority of the case against Milat revolved around circumstantial evidence.

A VERY riveting interview & I'm now really looking forward to reading the book!!

Yeah I remember.....the real truth will come out.....that's right! So does OW know more than she's letting out? Does that mean she's withholding information from the police? IS THAT LEGAL? obviously the police don't care about little secrets because...
GBC's STILL IN GAOL!!

And the story continues.
